(2) Au Yeung Chun Fai pleaded guilty to taking part in the riot with 300 rioters & was jailed for that - he was initially accused of wounding Yang Xuezhi, a bystander from mainland China, with intent as well, but the court allowed that charge to be kept on file after his plea
(3) when sentencing Au Yeung, the judge said that he had indeed participated in the assault on Yang
the judge described how a mob of up to 20 rioters assaulted the mainland visitor for 9 minutes straight, & the defendant was filmed hitting the victim's head & neck with his hand
(4) at least 5 times - others also beat the victim with fists, umbrellas & rods
after Yang collapsed to the ground, some tried to stop the violence, but around 50 from the mob went on to surround & assault the victim until police dispersed the crowd
(7) What happened to the victim, Yang, from mainland China, after the mob attack - his left middle finger was permanently disabled - now disabled for life, he suffers from frequent headaches, is unable to work, & is heavily in debt
(9) The extent of Yang's injuries after the mob attack by Hong Kong rioters (earlier pic of his skull fracture) - Yang Xuezhi had 60 to 70 stitches on his head - now the back of his head is full of scars
(9) the Reuters photojournalist who took pics of his suffering won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize and $$ - the mob viciously beating this victim were called "masked protesters" when they were clearly rioting & assaulting innocent bystanders
