It's almost like having robust equality law makes the real difference.

It isn't clear why Victor feels a piece of paper would stop these abuses though. Does the paper magically convince everyone these are real women?

If so, he should consider that in much of the world women are also killed & excluded, so it wouldn't make much difference!

Fortunately, in Scotland we have protections - although women are still much more unsafe that TW (no murders ever in Scotland).

Perhaps Victor should concentrate on those countries which do not protect human rights - unless of course there is another agenda at play?

He's jolly worried about "arbitrary restrictions" on gender recognition. What, like developmental biology & knowing people can't change sex? Like evidence about male pattern violence and how it is divorced from identity but not sex? Arbitrary like single sex spaces?

Incidentally, we don't believe that recognising the reality of sex, sexism and sex-based oppression violates state obligations.

One has to ask at this point if Victor is aware of how women live in much of the world. FGM, menstrual huts, not being allowed to drive? Anyone?

We suppose it's "unfounded myths" which made women in a shelter in Leeds want a "deeply discriminatory restriction" on Dolatowski's human rights. Not the fact that this 6'5" male abused little girls in the women's toilets.

See where this is going? Victor thinks that women should not have the right to single sex shelters or counselling.

This last bit is interesting. He reiterates his problem with women being worried about abusive men (silly ladies), but misquotes himself. It's no longer an "erroneous perception" they are male, just "predatory males".

Maybe even he realised the official version was a bit mad!

In other words it's a #NotAllMen argument.

Oh and Victor, we are all too bloody aware they "exist". The only person denying people "exist" is you. Women as a sex class and predatory males who've exploited self ID, for a start.

Next Tues/Weds some of our MSPs will trot out Victor's lines and repeat his arguments.

If you read this & find it compelling you should not be operating heavy machinery & definitely not running a country.

Scotland is in so much trouble.
