What’s the difference between Female Genital Mutilation #FGM, denounced by @HillaryClinton and forbidden by federal law, and “gender-affirming care?”

@ColMorrisDavis Thank you. I get your point.

However:

Why didn’t the highly effective and respected Haywood County (NC) Tax Collector switch parties? It’s obvious that one party dominates the county.

The same thing happened in Houston re Harris County (TX) Judge, an executive position.

1/
@ColMorrisDavis @LinaHidalgoTX in 2018 defeated a highly respected @TexasGOP County Judge, and just won re-election in a tough campaign.

There’s a trend of straight-ticket voting and nationalizing elections, so it makes sense to join the dominant party, while voting as you wish in November.

2/
@ColMorrisDavis @LinaHidalgoTX @TexasGOP @Scott_Maxwell of @orlandosentinel can tell you a lot re Mr. Joel Greenberg, an elected county Tax Collector near Orlando who wasn’t content with doing the boring job he was elected to do.

Local government should be boring.

So should elections, right, @GabrielSterling?

@jocelyn528 @Taniel Respectfully, I blame @TheDemocrats @SpeakerPelosi @TeamPelosi @HouseDemocrats @FlaDems @browarddems @PBCDemParty for the prolonged vacancy in #FL20 early in this Congress.

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL-20) responsibly announced his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in January 2019.

1/
@jocelyn528 @Taniel @TheDemocrats @SpeakerPelosi @TeamPelosi @HouseDemocrats @FlaDems @browarddems @PBCDemParty It was already clear early in 2019 that @GovRonDeSantis was and is a snake.

Rep. Hastings should not have sought re-election.

He chose to run again.

@Sheila4Congress responsibly challenged him in the primary; fully informed #FL20 Democratic voters re-nominated him.

2/
@jocelyn528 @Taniel @TheDemocrats @SpeakerPelosi @TeamPelosi @HouseDemocrats @FlaDems @browarddems @PBCDemParty @GovRonDeSantis @Sheila4Congress Fully informed #FL20 voters re-elected him in November 2020.

Rep. Hastings passed away less than 100 days into his term of office.

Had the Democratic Party convinced him not to seek re-election, #FL20 could have had an orderly succession, at the federal and state levels.

@indivisiblestcv @MaxHailperin @IndivisibleMN03 Minnesota is extremely enlightened among states in that the State ID card for seniors 65+ (?) has LIFETIME as the ‘expiration’ date.

Respectfully, you should know this instead of just regurgitating stale talking points.

@MNSecofState

1/
@indivisiblestcv @MaxHailperin @IndivisibleMN03 @MNSecofState The real issue is decoupling the State ID from the current address; you are correct that many seniors moving into retirement communities don’t update their address by getting a new Minnesota State ID card.

Personal appearance should never be required just to update address.

2/
@indivisiblestcv @MaxHailperin @IndivisibleMN03 @MNSecofState Seriously, every Minnesota senior should have the Minnesota State ID card to live, even if the address on the card may not be current.

Few people lack any Photo ID; separating the issue from expiration date/current address can address many public concerns.

@stevesi28838948 @mikepompeo Understood. Both are horrible.

On the other hand, letting asylum seekers stay in USA encourages more people to make the unsafe journey, hiring international criminal human trafficking organizations to guide them across our border.

1/
@stevesi28838948 @mikepompeo People respond to incentives; these unlimited numbers of undocumented foreign citizens abandoning their BIPOC-led home countries are not sustainable.

That’s entirely on the @WHCOS Administration which refuses to acknowledge that poverty has never qualified for US asylum.

2/
@stevesi28838948 @mikepompeo @WHCOS Nor has poverty ever qualified for @UN @Refugees status.

The cynical exploitation and abuse of the asylum system by economic migrants and international criminal human trafficking organizations means it’s going to end, rather soon, unfortunately.

That’s reality.

Yes, ⁦@Scott_Maxwell⁩, #Florida has no law against recruiting “bogus” candidates to ‘run’ for office, nor should it.

Who decides that a lawful candidate is “bogus”?

1/

GOP chairman convicted in election fraud. But he’s the small fish | Commentary orlandosentinel.com/opinion/scott-…
Consider the 2020 #SD39 NPA vanity candidate, a bonafide resident of the district who paid his own filing fee.

Not a crime.

Should #Florida also require media @MiamiHerald @orlandosentinel to cover every candidate?

Who decides?

Sorry, lawful candidates are lawful.

2/
Besides, did media ever ask when did the sainted @JoseJavierJJR’s team first check out the #SD37 NPA mystery candidate’s claimed residence address:

June 12, 2020 filing deadline

July

August

September

October

never?

Perhaps he should have; lazy, right?

Sad !

@PoJoCummings @SIfill_ @Kaepernick7 His actions or inactions are directly opposite of what I think are his stated objectives, starting with police disrespecting Mr. Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, August 9, 2014, while the @MoDemParty @stlcopa was cruising to re-election without opposition.

1/
@PoJoCummings @SIfill_ @Kaepernick7 @MoDemParty @stlcopa In 2018, @WesleyBell4STL challenged the horrible incumbent in the primary and ended his political career.

That only happened because people voted.

I think a public figure has a responsibility to set a good example for the rest of us, even if he’s not an expert on government. 2/
@PoJoCummings @SIfill_ @Kaepernick7 @MoDemParty @stlcopa @WesleyBell4STL Rep. John Lewis:

Register and vote.

People died so you can vote.

I seriously believe that he should register and vote.

Exactly how he votes is private, of course.

The best protest vote is an intentional overvote - fill in all the bubbles.
