However:

Why didn’t the highly effective and respected Haywood County (NC) Tax Collector switch parties? It’s obvious that one party dominates the county.

The same thing happened in Houston re Harris County (TX) Judge, an executive position.

@ColMorrisDavis @LinaHidalgoTX in 2018 defeated a highly respected @TexasGOP County Judge, and just won re-election in a tough campaign.

There’s a trend of straight-ticket voting and nationalizing elections, so it makes sense to join the dominant party, while voting as you wish in November.

Local government should be boring.

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL-20) responsibly announced his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in January 2019.

Rep. Hastings should not have sought re-election.

He chose to run again.

@Sheila4Congress responsibly challenged him in the primary; fully informed #FL20 Democratic voters re-nominated him.

Rep. Hastings passed away less than 100 days into his term of office.

Had the Democratic Party convinced him not to seek re-election, #FL20 could have had an orderly succession, at the federal and state levels.

Respectfully, you should know this instead of just regurgitating stale talking points.

Personal appearance should never be required just to update address.

Few people lack any Photo ID; separating the issue from expiration date/current address can address many public concerns.

@PoJoCummings @SIfill_ @Kaepernick7 His actions or inactions are directly opposite of what I think are his stated objectives, starting with police disrespecting Mr. Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, August 9, 2014, while the @MoDemParty @stlcopa was cruising to re-election without opposition.

That only happened because people voted.
