⁦@RadioFreeTom⁩, you are quite correct that Americans have lost faith in government and experts.

Ohio canceling a scheduled election on March 17, 2020, and public health letting politics drive ‘science,’ did it for me.

1/
theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/… I therefore wonder why you deleted - just a few weeks ago - your June 2022 tweet, to which I responded with this:

@BDHerzinger Yes, this reminds me of Enron and what really happened in the file room.

Someone, probably a HS graduate, had the boring job of shredding audit supporting documents after the required retention period, and keeping records of what was destroyed.

Somebody fired him to save $.

1/
@BDHerzinger Nobody else knew, or cared.

They just assumed that the files automatically self-destructed after the mandatory retention period.

Then, when everything imploded, Enron noticed it had all these old files.

Once they’re subpoenaed, it’s obstruction of justice.

Too bad.

@SecRubio @SecDef @PeteHegseth

@DOGE @DOGECommittee

Now is the perfect opportunity to get rid of Leahy Vetting, once and for all.

While almost everyone in the Executive Branch understands / applies its principles as part of our foreign policy, everyone hates the process.

1/
So why not just stop doing it?

See if @LeaderJohnThune @SpeakerJohnson Congress objects.

@OMBpress @russvought @StateDRL @statepm

Our government has done, and continues to do, many things by inertia only.

Just stop doing Leahy Vetting, and see if anyone notices.

Because @TheDemocrats suck, President @realDonaldTrump has earned the right to govern as 47. @kenmartin73

Many of the USAID agreements etc. can be terminated at the convenience of the government. That’s clearly happening; sorry for the disruption.

1/ Just because the previous Administration chose to fund transgender drag shows in Peru, that doesn’t mean it’s fraud, even if someone in the current Administration doesn’t like it, and rightly so.

Cancel any agreement that’s still valid, pay valid bills, and wind things up.

@GrageDustin @IlhanMN Yes, I think both our federal government and the Minnesota government have established offices to address missing and murdered Indigenous Women.

Of course, such an office never actually does anything about the issue; it’s just virtue-signaling. @GrageDustin @IlhanMN doi.gov/news/secretary…

@stevesi28838948 I have a specific suggestion.

for former officials, a very brief time period, just long enough for a threat assessment and making private arrangements, if needed.

Yes, the government should pay for private security based on threat assessments and means-tested.

1/
@stevesi28838948 for private security, the only issue is money.

If a former government official is under threat, and passes the means test, it’s not wrong for the government to pay.

Active-duty personnel need to focus on current officials.

Otherwise, it becomes a boondoggle.

@RonaldKessler

I just read your book First Family Detail.

Further re pp. 217 - 219, insufficient magnetometers:

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, I went to the Mall for the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

To enter the secure area, basically the Lincoln Memorial and its Reflecting Pool, the magnetometers - 7 or 9, I don’t remember - were set up east of 17th Street, on the west side of the Washington Monument grounds.

I got there very early, over 2 hours before the program began, but it still took forever.

What bothers me about Shakopee Precinct 10 early in-person absentee (envelope) voting 15 - 17 October, 2024, is that each of those 20 voters - our fellow Americans - had the opportunity to vote the entire ballot, from President to unopposed incumbent District Court Judge.

1/
Yes, their ballots included State Representative (54A), currently being contested, but they didn’t necessarily only vote in that contest.

Once elections officials figured out that the votes of these 20 identifiable citizens had not been counted, they should have invited them

⁦@TheAtlantic⁩ @ElainaPlott I am reading ⁦@Kash_Patel⁩’s book.

He discusses October 30, 2020, on page 150.

Why did you say he didn’t mention it at all? Did you read his book?

I think he’s a loose cannon but he’s correct about media lies. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi… Here’s your para 72, if I am counting correctly. Image

@TeamTrump @elonmusk @DOGE

President @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @RobertfKennedJr should exercise national leadership in this crisis.

#TrumpCare would eliminate the need for insurance companies like @UHC already blacklisted by medical providers.

1/ Single-payer, drawing from Medicare for all, etc.

So what’s the catch?

Aggressive enforcement of our immigration laws so that all workers are “on the books,” “above the table,” and thus covered.

Cheap companies can’t cheat.

@AGTennessee personally defended TN state law.

In 2023, @AGEllison chose not to have Minnesota’s high-powered Solicitor General, @KramerLiz, defend the constitutionality of MN state law. supremecourt.gov/opinions/22pdf…

Attention @StarTribune subscribers:

If they omit demographic information about criminal suspects, you already know to fill in the blanks based on “lived experience.”

Similarly, if the paper covers a foreign national, “lived experience” lets you assume undocumented status.

1/
As of November 2024, “lived experience” mandates that subscribers assume that any criminal suspect anywhere in Minnesota is a @MinnesotaDFL official, including at the local level.

I continue to e-subscribe to @StarTribune, but I question why.

Just as I thought.

@MNSecofState @MNSteveSimon is not telling the truth.

No @smartdeliverysv courier was “fired,” because - per smart-delivery.com, they’re all “independent contractors.”

@AGEllison, another example of mis-classification. @SD50MNGOP @HC_Elections @EdinaMN @bloomington_mn @GOPMNCD3 @MNCD5GOP @46_SDRPM @thauserkstp @realakkamara @WalterHudson @BrianOSheaSPI @MNSecofState @MNSteveSimon @smartdeliverysv @AGEllison Remember, an “independent contractor” is not an “employee” and, therefore, cannot be “fired.”

All Americans should be appalled that @Hennepin Auditor and @HC_Elections think so little about American Democracy that they would even consider hiring out this governmental function.

I’m reading your book, great so far, but please review the bottom of page 97, “Generals (sic) Mattis and Dunford”.

Please, at least pretend, Secretary Mattis was a civilian while serving as @SecDef.

Please review. Thank you.

Please review page 154 at the bottom.

“Mueller Commission (sic)”.

I believe that he was the Special Counsel; there was no “Commission” involved.

Yes, I noted 1).

We both know that small-print disclaimers 2) merely check the box.

My only concern about using the 2010 official photo from Section 60 is that media choosing to report on other campaigns need to mention this example also.

Thank you again. @JimLaPorta @bkesling @JoeBiden @ArlingtonNatl Here’s another example of legacy media simply not understanding basic civics.
