1: All attacks hit if circumstances are met.
In melee range? Attack hits. Shocking Grasp's Target in range? You hit. Ranged weapon used against an enemy in range? It hits!
So how do we treat armor class? ⬇️

2: Armor is Damage Reduction.
Subtract 10 from your AC, that's your new Damage Reduction.
When an enemy deals damage to you, subtract the results from your new Damage Reduction.

3: Advantage adds +3 damage, while cits trigger on highest face value on dice. Re-roll that die.
Rolling a d8 for a light crossbow? Triggers on face 8, and re-roll d8. Rolling 2d6 for a greatsword? Triggers on any face 6, and re-roll d6.

4: Spells with touch range can crit, while others cannot.
With this simple fix, it puts touch spells on the same level as weapon damage, while keeping spells with greater distance in line with the game maths.

6: Skill checks for PCs are fail forward, but NPC/monsters still roll.
For PCz, success is success, failure still succeeds but you lose 1 HD.
HD is the lever DMs can use to throttle the game, and still make it seem dangerous.

7: Saving throws function as-is.
These are important, critical moments in the game. Especially death saves! Leave them all alone.

8: Faster combat = more action.
By removing most die rolls, keeps the focus on action, and vastly sped up combat.
Best of all? It's mathematically balanced.
