Since Pentiment came out, I've seen people attribute things to me that I did not do, erase me from things that I absolutely did do, and ignore large numbers of other devs who also did a huge amount of work. This is most notable with Fallout: New Vegas, so let's do this again: 1/8
John Gonzalez was the lead creative designer (effectively "writing lead") on Fallout: New Vegas. He wrote the main plot from Chris Avellone's starting incident (shot in the head, dropped in a grave in the desert) and my end point (2nd Battle of Hoover Dam). 2/8
He created and wrote House, designed the families of The Strip, and wrote many major characters, including House, Caesar, Benny, Yes Man, and Vulpes Inculta. He also wrote Ricky and Stella in Honest Hearts as well as all of the Survivalist/Randall Clark logs. 3/8
Much of the writing on core F:NV was done by area designers, including Jesse Farrell, Eric Fenstermaker, Akil Hooper, Jeff Husges, Rob Lee, Charles Staples, and Travis Stout. Steph Newland, Matt MacLean, George Ziets, Chris Avellone, and I also wrote some characters. 4/8
Companions: Arcade (me), Boone (Fenstermaker), Cass (Avellone), ED-E (Hooper), Lily and Raul (Stout), Rex (Farrell), Veronica (Fenstermaker).
I was the director and system designer for the base game. I directed Honest Hearts and Gun Runners' Arsenal and wrote Joshua Graham. 5/8
Chris Avellone directed and did much of the character writing for Dead Money, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road (and also wrote Lanius in base F:NV). Travis Stout also did character writing for Honest Hearts, OWB, and Lonesome Road. 6/8
I may have missed some things in there, but when in doubt, the various Fallout wikis usually have correct information. And even though the in-game credits don't specifically attribute individual characters to designers, they do properly credit everyone who was involved. 7/8
It's been a white. Even I forget things, which is why I don't answer many questions about F:NV anymore, but basic things should remain clear to fans: John Gonzalez was the lead writer, I was the director, many other devs wrote a huge number of important characters. Thanks. 8/8

I'm going to take a break from twitter for a bit. The feedback on Pentiment has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone for both the kind words and the criticism.
The team is working on addressing a number of features and bugs that people have been talking about.
Please note that some bugs, because they are tied to text, may take longer to update because they must be supported across all localizations. This is not a comprehensive list, but it represents some of the things we're looking at in the immediate and slightly distant future:
* Independent audio slider for writing SFX.
* Instant dialogue option (makes dialogue render instantly w/ a buffer to prevent accidental skipping)
* Journal bios for characters displaying Act II data in Act I (watch out for spoilers until patched).
Most directors, regardless of medium, are trying to create an emotional and/or intellectual experience for the audience. When you work with creative people and tell them how to effect the mechanics of expression (i.e, how to do their job), it can be frustrating.
Focusing instead on the goal and the feeling is usually more productive. In good creative relationships, people need to have faith and trust in each other to do the work. That's not to say that the details cannot/should not be critiqued, but that comes later.
Hey, all. I just took this pic when I was discharged from the hospital after staying two days for pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lungs) and remnants of a deep vein thrombosis (clot in one of the veins of my right calf). I had COVID 3.5 months ago. This is a PSA:
I have never, to my knowledge, had a serious blood clot before. The original clot formed in my calf maybe a month ago after an intense bike ride and felt like a weird muscle injury that swelled the area a bit and made it stiff to flex. It lasted for a week or two.
Last Friday, I noticed I was getting short of breath from really mild exertion (like taking the trash out). I did my usual Saturday bike ride (not normally stressful) and it completely gassed me. My heart rate was through the roof from any exertion.
I support bringing back the House of Wittelsbach to rule over the Kingdom of Bavaria BUT… only if the king is as gay as Ludwig II and goes for sleigh rides and builds nonsense castles all over.
