ALERT: #Boulder County responding to structure fire in Sunshine Canyon. Per scanner, evacuations are imminent
They are calling out mandatory evacuation grids over the #Boulder County scanner right now. Once I get info on the areas those translate to, we will post them
UPDATE: Per scanner, Sunshine Canyon structure fire has moved into wildland and jumped the road, is no longer contained. Now at about 1/4 of an acre
Response right now is split into wildland and structure fire responses, per #Boulder County scanner. Crews on scene still have the fire at 1/4 to 1/2 an acre moving on the ground
Per #Boulder County scanner, still no name on fire. 20-25 mph winds, gusts 40 mph out of the west

So seems like there still might be confusion on the whole two maps thing, so hopefully this thread will help... #sunshinewildlandfire
Most of the confusion seems to have stemmed from the city and county putting their maps on separate platforms and people referring to "west Boulder" to include both city and county
On the left is the map #Boulder County was using, where we still have three mandatory evacuation areas. On the right, the map used by the city, where there were temporarily evacuation warnings
A drop in wind speeds but also a drop in temperatures, with many still without power in #Boulder County. Expected to get down to single digits overnight #cowx
Snow has also really started to pick up in the last few minutes here in #Boulder
Still thousands without power in #Boulder, per Xcel outage map. Looks like they are making some progress and seeing some crews out on the map, but no ETA on restoration. Have not been able to reach Xcel media folks yet today
UPDATE: #Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle said no casualties reported yet. 2,000 homes in the burn area, but that does not mean all 2,000 were damaged or lost #MarshallFire
Pelle said winds died down last night and they were able to make some progress on #MarshallFire. Warned people to still stay away, still active fires, downed lines and other hazards.
"We saw a lot of risk we're still trying to mitigate."
Pelle said only one person was reported missing last night, but they were located. Given speed of fire and the number of homes destroyed, he said fact that no deaths have been reported yet is "pretty miraculous." #MarshallFire
UPDATE: Per Sheriff Joe Pelle, #MarshallFire up to 1,600 acres. Estimate is 580 homes lost or damaged. One officer injured.
Of those 580, Pelle said 370 homes in east Superior, 210 in the Olde Town area. Target complex and Element Hotel also burned. #MarshallFire
Pelle said no missing people or deaths reported at this time, but given speed and scope of fire, "It wouldn't surprise us if we did find a casualty." #MarshallFire

Neven Stanisic's family came to the U.S. as refugees from the former Yugoslavia in the late 1990s. He was likely headed home from the King Soopers on Monday after fix-it jobs inside the grocery store when he was killed in the parking lot: bit.ly/3tN1fEV via @johnwenzel
