The way I see it, some major issues in UK are: 1) Immigration is too high for infrastructure, forcing up house prices and straining other services. 2) Devolution. Yes, Government is too "London centric" & this seemed the answer. But the cure has been MUCH worse than the disease.
3) The London Mayor. An utter disaster. A quasi tyrannical anti-democrat. Remove mayors & third-rate bureaucrats everywhere, cause it ain't working. 4) Anti-car measures, which need to go. LTNs and ULEZ are destroying people's livelihoods. Even worse, they are anti-democratic.
5) Nightlife regulation. Take the power away from residents and give it to businesses. Ppl who find cities noisy should move, rather than getting the council to tell off the naughty publicans trying to earn a living. 6) Sponsorship in politics. No MP should be getting money from
things like the Betting and Gaming Council. Yuck! 7) Transparency in political funding. I never ever thought I would say this, but I'm with the "who funds you?" people now. It seems to me that everywhere is tainted by dark money and we have to understand, in light of Putin's war.
8) On that note, the funding of eco protestor groups. Why is it that they want to veto everything that will temporarily ease our energy crisis, like fracking, in a time of warfare? Funny how the richest protest groups are the ones that make UK citizens worse off... #interference
9) The university system. Another disaster. Why on earth are taxpayers STILL paying for "low value degrees"? Ridiculous. Britons are not learning skills, like, say, coding, that suit the demands of the modern day world. This puts us at a major strategic disadvantage in a time of
great geopolitical instability. Sure, doing a low value degree is fun (and I did psychology) but when World War III comes it might be a bit better to, I dunno, have a stock of people who can decipher codes or fly planes, rather than graduates in "discourse analysis".
10) Normalised generational inequality. Anyone who tells young adults to give up Netflix should be forced on a mandatory gap year where they have to live on the same income, finding rent. We should also think about paying back young adults for Coronavirus sacrificies.
I may come back to my rant-ifesto.
Remembered another 11) Manufacturing woes. The UK economy is SO reliant on global supply chains. Even after Covid bit us in the arse - and we had to beg the country where Covid originated to help us, while also paying for the pleasure, we are still unable to wean ourselves off.
Whenever we have supply shortages, we think "this is why Brexit was a disaster", instead of realising how little we protect ourselves - hence why Russia can screw us over, because of our dire energy versatility. Also if we improved our manufacturing capabilities, we wouldn't have
an economy that is so reliant on "dark money", because we would have more "healthy industries". Tourism is a healthy industry, for instance, because it relies on fairly transparent trade, just as is the case for selling products. Too much British wealth comes from murky sources.
12) Lack of democracy. Part of the reason there is such discontent from voters towards politician is they do not listen. Immigration rates and anti-car measures are some of biggest evidence. Anti-democracy is fuelling a wave of conspiratorial sentiment among the population, which
hostile forces can exploit to fracture the UK (aka Russia trying to cause more division). People are paranoid about WEF? Well, they just had some of the most discombobulating few years of their lives. Gov can combat this by listening, and dissolving third-rate bureaucrat power.
13) Lack of vehicle versatility. Politicians are forcing everyone to move to electric cars. At the same time there are signs of electricity shortages ahead. Given the lack of versatility in our energy sector as a whole, we should not go for "low versatility" in other sectors.

If you scrapped private schools it wouldn't make as much difference as the Left thinks. That's because educational performance has high genetic component, meaning it can only be socially engineered so much. Private schools facilitate genetic potential better than state, that's it
If you think I'm wrong, read Robert Plomin's book on DNA, Blueprint. It has long passages on this concept. The text actually argues private schools may be a waste of money
Page 87. "Differences in schools do not make much of a difference in children's achievement"... "This does not mean that the quality of teaching and support offered by students is unimportant. It matters a lot for the quality of life for students
Okay, now I'm back from the anti-Trump protest and have access to a computer, here are my thoughts: I hated it. If Trump's bad, then so are his haters. Not that the protest was really about Trump. It was mostly just a Corbyn love-fest, all about hating Israel and loving socialism
I know Trump's an idiot and has made a lot of people feel worried, but the hysteria about him is just as bad. The hysteria strikes me as more dangerous. It was as if 1/4 of the nation had bunked off school. Like the students I remember from May Day protests when I was 12
They are so empowered in their righteousness. But what's so great about them? They swear and there's now footage circulating of them throwing milkshake at a Trump fan. They say Trump is the infant. But their protest was infantile. It was the Carnival of Big Babies.
