1. Know that you ARE doing the best you can - be compassionate towards yourself.

2. Understand what is and isn’t in your gift to control - whilst things are horrendously challenging, many events you are facing at present are beyond your control.

3. Focus on the things within your control - that patient in front of you right now, things that you can do to give yourself a bit of respite - even if it’s one small thing.

4. Limit caffeine and sugar intake, which can make anxiety worse and make it harder to get to sleep. 3/5
5. Ground yourself & breathe - deep breathing, muscle relaxation, NHS staff have free access to the Headspace App headspace.com/nhs (other Apps are available).
6. Share your fears & worries - talk to someone you trust - what do you need from them? Reassurance? Advice? 4/5
