1. It would be a travesty of history, to "commemorate" 🇿🇼's #UnityDay, without chronicling what that day means.
By & large, it's a stark reminder of the violent DNA of the Zanu party, & their persisting thirst for uncontested political dominance, that continues to spill blood.
2. #UnityDay came about, when Mugabe & his allies, shifted from the use of brutal force (Gukurahundi) to the use of dialogue (Unity accord), to institute their envisioned one party state.
Today should actually be a day of introspection & national mourning, and not celebration.
3. Post the inaugural post-independence election, Zanu instituted a politically motivated genocide, on Matebeleland & Midland regions, as punishment for supporting the Nkomo led Zapu.
Tragically, the untold consequences of the Zanu Gukurahundi evilness is yet to be fully told.
4. Motivated by a desperation to save lives, & put to a hault a senseless bloodbath against innocent civilians, Father 🇿🇼, Dr Nkomo succumbed to pressure.
He was dragged to a settlement that basically swallowed his party.
Through an amalgamation, Zanu & PF Zapu became ZanuPF
5. When you look at the terms of the agreement, the intention of the genocide, & the shift from confrontation to dialogue, are exposed.
Most importantly, item [6] of the agreement spells in black & white, that Zimbabwe was to be turned into an undesirable, one party state.
5. Besides that established fact that the #UnityAccord wasn't about peace nor Zimbabweans, but Zanu & its quest for uncontested dominance, the accord also wasn't even about Zapu.
In fact, by signing this, Zapu ceased to exist.
At best, it joined the existing "Zanu" structures.
6. Besides being politically immobilized, Zapu never receive its confiscated pvt properties.
They weren't even given an opportunity to decide what was to happen to the ashes of their political existence
Eventually, many Zapu leaders were dragged out of gov & the coalition party
7. One can also add that even with the Unity Accord in place, Zanu still bastardized the liberation contributions of many citizens from the broader Matebeleland region.
To date, our liberation history is by & large, Shona-lized.
It's consequently exclusionary & misinforming
8. If we are to remember anything because of this day, then let it be that Zanu is a violent party
Disappointingly, though unsurprising, many citizens from the South who wanted to attend Gukurahundi memorials today were arrested.
Commemoration plaques are continously destroyed
9. Even post the Unity Accord, it would seem like Zanu continues to deliberately underdevelop the South, as punishment for association with the Opposition.
Put differently, ZanuPF remains on a warpath with dissident & opposing views.
That's their legacy.
Violence & toxicity.
10. Yet perhaps the worst consequence of Gukurahundi, has to be the tribal divide that persists in our country to date.
There's an inheritance of anger, pitting Shonas vs Ndebeles.
Many from the South still bear the scars of their untold suffering.
Again, thats Zanu's legacy
11. Disappointingly, successive ZanuPF regimes are convinced that the Gukurahundi genocide will eventually succumb to the test of time.
There are findings of a whole commission on Gukurahundi that remain unpublished, since the 90s.
Honesty & truth telling remain elusive.
12. As we celebrate the so called #UnityDay, we are told Gukurahundi: "was a moment of madness".
Surely that can't be enough, without identification of the madmen & what eventually became of their madness.
After all, we may wake up with madmen in power.
That's scary.
enkosi!!

2. It's only a ruling party that can abuse state tools, to institute a 'one party state'.
The best an Opposition party can do, is appeal significantly to the voters, thus acquire massive citizens' support, to the detriment of its competitors.
Everything else is whataboutism.
3. It's only those with a naive appreciation of our political dynamics, who can claim that one Opposition is closing space for their own activities.
They sheepishly think hijacking pro-state propaganda against the main Opp, will transfer It's support to their own projects.
1. A few days ago, @MbalulaFikile was interviewed on @eNCA where he spoke about how some @MYANC elders were concerned by some of his 'weak character traits'.
On his own admission, part of that trait, is his unproductive youthful exuberance, which makes him act/speak prematurely.
2. No measured individual, let alone SG of the oldest political party in the region, goes on air & says "we don't subscribe to regime change in Zimbabwe."
In doing so, @MbalulaFikile is bastardizing our constitution which envisioned "regime change", through national elections.
3. "Regime change" is a function of democracy.
Its embarrassing that @MbalulaFikile accuses the "British & Americans" of wanting regime change, & ANC of disapproving "regime change", when both would mean undue political interference.
2] Doesn't the fact that 'MDC old guard' aren't 'authoritative figures in CCC' (whatever that actually means), show that CCC isn't a direct replica of MDC(A) politics?
This is simple comprehension, which shouldn't be missed by a layman on the streets, let alone a whole Professor
3] How do you reconcile the laughable claim that CCC is a one cult, by also observing that Fadzayi & Os are both reps of its communication department?
Isnt it an operation mechanisms, that 2 other individuals, besides Adv Chamisa, are speaking authoritatively on behalf of CCC?
It is actually the propaganda that CCC is a renamed MDC-A that is childish!
More so, coming from a man who was fundamentally opposed to the formation of a new party, and subsequent dumping of the MDC name & everything that came with it
I've seen a lot of anger & frustrations being (mis)directed towards some institutions led by individuals now part of the many #4ED structures.
Perhaps we need first, to try & understand the political gamesmanship motivating these gimmicks by the regime.
2] To begin with, most of these #4ED structures are actually founded & run by ZanuPF members while those mostly active on social media, are controlled by counter intelligence operatives.
Presenting them as none aligned institutions just supporting ED's re-election is deliberate.
3] Theres something to learn also, from the timing of the mushrooming of these institutions, & their choreographed political massaging.
These "unstuctured" institutions, though seemingly appearing independent, are actually being unmistakably remote controlled from somewhere.
