For the last year, bomb threats have been connected to anti LGBTQ hate.

In particular, there are multiple verified instances of correlation between bomb threats and Libs of Tiktok's tweets within a broader epidemic of bomb threats tied to anti LGBTQ hate.

A thread: 🧵
Back in May, LoTT tweeted about Kiel, Wisconsin launching a Title IX investigation into the bullying of a trans student. The school was hit with several bomb threats causing them to close and go remote. The school caved and dropped the investigation.

The most high profile instance of bomb threats was Boston Children's after LoTT spent weeks going after them. At least 2 people have been arrested for making bomb threats against Boston Children's. It's still happening, but due to how often, the news stopped covering it.
In October, LoTT tweeted about an obvious troll wearing massive fake prosthetic breasts in Canada. The school has been subjected to months of bomb threats, some by the same person who sent threats to Boston Children's. The threats are still ongoing.

Earlier in December, LoTT heavily promoted an edited video by Project Veritas about a dean at Francis Parker high school. A few days later, the school was hit by bomb threats and forced to evacuate.

California state senator Scott Weiner has been the subject of LoTT's tweets at least twice this year, in June and December. In June, the threats followed a tweet by LoTT. In December, LoTT mocked Sen. Weiner days after he received bomb threats.
A school in Maine was targeted because a social worker did not out a trans student at the school. LoTT tweeted about the school after the bomb threats but she failed to mention it after she amplified the story further.

This is a small microcosm of an epidemic of bomb threats and mass shooting threats being made around the country.

Tufts University in Boston has been hit with several this month, particularly targeting their rainbow stairs and DEI programs.

It's also not just linked to libs of Tiktok. After a severely misleading Fox News article about a teacher who has a queer book library, the school was targeted with bomb threats.

This has been a massively underreported problem for the last year. It's not just bomb threats but also threats of mass shootings. It's stoking fear around the country.

One common name keeps popping up in multiple disparate bomb threats aimed at California State Sen. Weiner, Boston Children's, and multiple schools. "Zamina Tataro" has been used as a Gmail account name in several of these bomb threats.

There's a clear pattern of bomb threats following not just LoTT tweets, but any national or international coverage of anti-LGBTQ stories. This is clearly the work of people intending to terrorize communities despite doing so under the pretense of "protecting children."
This is only scratching the surface. The number of threats against the LGBTQ community this year have been off the charts. It's insanely hard to keep track. I uncovered more stories as I researched for this thread. I now have to have a Google alert set for "bomb threats."
This is not just a US problem but also a broader North American problem as threats are also occurring in Canada. In not sure what can be done as this is a low cost means of inflicting terror with throwaway email accounts. It's clear something needs to change though.
I don't think this will get any better next year. Things will likely continue to escalate as there has been no meaningful pushback on the anti LGBTQ hate machine being propagated on social media and far right media. I really hope these threats don't escalate into real bombs.

I'm a copyright abolitionist but doesn't compiling the AI generated work into a book require some level of creativity? I mean, if clicking a button to take a selfie is sufficient for protection, why isn't authoring certain prompts to create a narrative?
If the author edited the photos, and edited the text to the prompts to make them coherent, wouldn't that count as having a degree of creativity? Looking at it another way, the book as a whole is a result of human authorship even if individual components are machine generated.
Making AI generated images and text are not as easy as just entering prompts in and getting a complete work back. It often takes precise language using the creativity of the person using the AI generator similar to a photographer positioning their camera in a certain way.

Elon is self destructing in real time. He is attacking Ross Gerber, a major hedge fund manager and Twitter investor. This isn't going to end well.
The point Elon was making about capital flight to bonds as interest rates rise generally works at the broad market level not individual stocks. The SP 500 is nearly flat over 6 months while Tesla is in free fall.
His point about interest rates and bank accounts isn't even stating it accurately. The vast majority of equity, 83%, is owned by the top 10%. Most of those folks are not stashing their cash in money market accounts but instead moving funds into bonds and debt based funds.

What's mind boggling about insane conspiracy theories about systemic child sexual abuse, is that there have been several institutions that have been guilty of just that. The Catholic Church, Southern Baptist Convention, and the Boy Scouts all had massive child sex abuse scandals.
You don't need some absolutely bonkers conspiracy theory about children being shipped in Wayfair furniture to find evidence of systemic abuse of children. There's plenty of powerful institutions that do engage in systemic abuse but they are protected by the cultural zeitgeist.
Sexual abuse is typically a function of power and authority. The worst abuses always occur in institutions where power and influence are unquestioned. Churches are a perfect example of this. Accusing a priest of abuse could mean a whole family was ostracized by the community.

It was only a matter of time before anti-BDS economic boycott laws were broadened to include anything states dislike. South Carolina seeks to make it unlawful for contractors to engage in boycotts of businesses refusing to provide gender affirming care.

legiscan.com/SC/text/H3564/… ImageImage
For example, a company like Walmart decides to stop offering gender affirming care to its transgender employees. The local trans-owned catering company that contracts with the state decides to boycott Walmart. They could now be investigated by the attorney general.
This is a complete slap in the face to the 1st amendment and the ability for individuals and companies to engage in free assocation by boycotting companies they disagree with politically. This started with BDS but is now spreading to other political positions.

I ratioed Elon so he deleted the tweet. He paid $44 billion for the privilege of being owned by a trans woman.
How do you like them pronouns?
Elon doesn't seem to understand, we're not locked in here with him, he's locked in here with us.

While the market rallied, Tesla hit a two year low in its stock price. Investors are fleeing now that Elon's trolling is severely impacting the favorability of Tesla by consumers, who now see it negatively. Image
At some point, investors will revolt and seek to replace Musk as CEO. He does not have controlling interest so he could be booted by shareholder vote.

marketwatch.com/story/teslas-a… Image
I don't think Musk would handle an attempt to remove him well and would likely use his Twitter account to lob harassment at any investors that attempt to do so. He'll likely go scorched earth which won't end well for anyone.
