Because it's so outrageous, I'm going to start at the bottom of the barrel with Tucker for this thread on Zelensky's visit to DC, the Biden admin's success and failure, and the future of American support for Ukraine and global security. 1/10
Carlson has moved from advocating for Putin to endorsing Russia's genocide in Ukraine. I don't know why Murdoch is allowing this on his network, or why advertisers support it, but I will not appear on Fox News again while Carlson is there. A bloody line has been crossed. 2/10
Carlson's attacks on Ukraine and Zelensky personally are designed to dehumanize and to justify Russian atrocities, which are already ongoing, documented, and publicly known. It's like still backing the Nazis after Auschwitz was uncovered. 3/10
Slandering Ukraine & Zelensky as anti-Christian, undemocratic, etc. sends the message it's fine for Putin to slaughter as many as he likes. The truth is that Ukrainians are fighting and dying for the American values Carlson sold out for Trump and Putin. Go to hell. 4/10
Zelensky's visit to DC was overwhelmingly cheered, so wasting time on a few GOP America First buffoons isn't needed. Just don't call them conservatives. They are undermining global & US security for.. what, exactly? Why is weakening Ukraine so important to them? I wonder. 5/10
Don't squawk about budgets and resources. Helping Ukraine devastate the invading Russian military for 5% of the US defense budget is a bargain, mostly using warehoused arms. Even Kissinger admits eliminating the Russian threat long hanging over Europe is a boon. 6/10
Helping Ukraine isn't charity. It's paying a debt after decades of enriching and empowering Russian aggression. It's a wise & essential security move, because if Putin attacks Lithuania American soldiers would go and die. Ukrainians are dying to prevent that risk. 7/10
Now to Zelensky, Biden, and the Congress, together in DC, an amazing moment. Credit to the US for doing what it has done, and for this show of support. But, as the grateful Zelensky said, it's not enough. Thousands are dying and the US is not meeting the moment. 8/10
Jokes and camaraderie are fine, but the Biden admin is still talking about concessions to the mass-murdering war criminal in the Kremlin. The opportunity was there to say that total victory is the shared goal of the US and Ukraine, with the total support it requires. 9/10
White House policy has not evolved to respond to Russia's genocidal acts. There is no escalation in self-defense, & this self-deterrence must end. Give Ukraine everything to save lives, time & money. Peace can only come from victory. Seize this moment. Glory to Ukraine. 10/10

This is the original sin of failing to deter Putin in Ukraine and the lesson the US & West still refuse to learn. You don’t try to find balance with an invading dictatorship. I hope Zelensky in DC can break this foolish and deadly logjam.
It is a fitting visit. Zelensky is as much a leader for liberty as Washington’s namesake, leading his people in a war for survival and independence. He is also leading the democratic world in a fight it long refused to acknowledge.
Ukraine is not a buffer, it is a people. Zelensky is not a proxy, he is the elected president of a valiant and besieged nation that deserves every support. They are fighting for the whole free world despite being abandoned by it for so long.
Important piece. Who is being attacked is most important, but who is watching also matters. Abandoning allies and failing to deter enemies leads to more conflict. Ukraine watched Georgia in 2008. China & Taiwan are watching Russia & Ukraine now.
I warned that Putin would cross borders despite having a comfortable relationship with his free world appeasers. Not only because it was his dream, but because eventually every dictator is forced to look abroad for new enemies when domestic difficulties arise.
Talking about China's long game and no being a rush to claim Taiwan ignores that dynamic. If Xi feels too much internal pressure on his grip on power, he will turn to foreign aggression like nearly every dictatorship does.
This simple formula is apparently too mathematically and morally clear for Western leaders. To save lives, to end the war, to create the only path to real peace, give Ukraine everything it needs to defend itself and win as quickly as possible.
The rest is excuses by bureaucrats and managers unable and unwilling to admit that their instincts and experience are obsolete during wartime. Leaders are needed now. It is a time of hard choices and action. The buck can no longer be passed.
Ukrainians are again sitting through a day of Russian missiles raining down on their cities, but Macron talks about security guarantees for... Russia?! What about security for the innocent people actually under attack?
I wish everyone could visit Ukraine for even a day. A country larger than France, a population nearly that of Spain, being invaded, terrorized, and bombarded into darkness. It's impossible to grasp that the world is allowing Russia to do this.
Russia is preparing more missile attacks against Ukrainian civilians. Thousands more will be killed, injured, their food and energy supply destroyed. Meanwhile, those launching these cowardly attacks are immune because the allies refuse to give Ukraine the weapons it needs.
What are they waiting for? People are being slaughtered and are supposed to wait patiently? Sending generators and blankets is very nice, but Russia can destroy them faster and will keep killing innocents. Let Ukraine fight and Ukraine will win.
I would say Merkel is trying to rewrite history, but really it's that she refuses to apologize or admit error for years of empowering Putin, up to and including this war. 1/7
Merkel championed engagement with Putin, pulling Europe along. The idea that Russia would be liberalized, would be too interconnected for Putin to attack, etc. It was proved wrong in 2014 and still she doubled-down, pushing ahead with Nord Stream 2, etc. 2/7
Even Steinmeier, Putin's apologist for years, has apologized! But Merkel babbles about her legacy, as if anything could prove her right at this point. A disgrace. She and Obama helped create this monster with their complacency. They should speak. 3/7
"Putin will not be able to break the people who have been resisting armed aggression for months, fighting for their freedom. But his tactic of destroying civilian infrastructure poses a threat to the life and health of millions of people."
"Ukraine should receive the weapons that will allow it to effectively respond to rocket attacks on its territory, by hitting those military bases from which rocket attacks on Ukraine are conducted, wherever these bases are located."
