A truly dominant performance for England in the WODI’s and T20s which should be celebrated to an extent.

There remains questions around England’s batting (yes they’re playing on slow pitches compared to batting wickets/short boundaries in India) but you still feel as if they’re not competing with the dynamism and RR of Aus/Ind.
England’s bowling looks good w/ all bases covered for when they face stronger opposition. Nonetheless, it’ll require a big adjustment from the WI batting line-up to the World Cup so England can’t be complacent, but should be confident.
Unfortunately it’s hard not to feel a sour taste in the mouth after this series. Not only because of the complete lack of marketing, difficulty in accessing the games from the UK, and low crowd attendances in the WI…
But mainly because it’s never been more blatantly obvious of the unequal distribution of funding towards the women’s game globally.
Whilst Australia, England, India and NZ continue to progress in terms of infrastructure, professionalism, and depth of talent available for selection - there are teams being left behind and it’s really sad to watch.
For the women’s game to grow, it needs to be sold to new and larger audiences. One-sided, uncompetitive games like this will not sell the product.
I don’t have the answers. But speaking as a fan, I desperately want women’s cricket to experience a similar revolution to women’s football this summer. I’m sure it’ll come with time.
Let’s hope plenty of teams show up at this upcoming World Cup with a desire to showcase just how incredible women’s cricket can be to a global audience.
And keep an eye on the U19 World Cup because that will be the indicator of what the future holds…
