*"NOTA" mentality of Hindus*
Ahmed Shah Abdali invaded India.
No one could dare to stop him.
*Only the Peshwa from Maharashtra showed initiative and courage to fight the invader.*

Peshwai army reached Panipat to stop Abdali.

He called upon the people of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh to co-operate with him in stopping Abdali.
*But Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh pressed NOTA.*
They said, this is not our fight... it is a fight between Afghans and Peshwa.

But ...
Local Muslims supported Ahmed Shah Abdali.
*As a result, Peshwa was defeated and Abdali won this battle of Panipat.*

But after the victory "Ahmed Shah Abdali" carried out terrible slaughter ...

*not in Maharashtra* ... but in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh.
He demolished the temples of Kurukshetra, Pehowa, Delhi, Mathura, Vrindavan etc.
Raped the women here and took them as slaves.
He could not do any harm to Maharashtra.

Abdali had an army of 60,000 and Peshwa had around 50,000. Peshwa hoped that Rajputs, Jats, Sikhs and local Hindus would support him. But all of them shied away from the fight thinking that if the Peshwa won, his rule will extend in complete North India.

So the Peshwa soldier did not even get food far away from getting company.

On the contrary, as soon as Abdali raised the slogan of Jihad, the Nawab of Awadh, Suja-ud-Daula, the Rohilla chieftain of Bareilly and the local small Muslim princely states and vassals joined Abdali.

Abdali's army of sixty thousand became 1.25 lakh.

And 50,000 Peshwa soldiers were fighting the war on empty stomach.... The third battle of Panipat was thus fought between the combined Islamic army and the Peshwa army.

The Nawab of Awadh named it the *Islamic Army and gathered the rest of the Muslims in the name of Islam. While the Peshwa army had expected help from other Hindu kings ... but the Hindus of North India remained neutral (NOTA).*

The battle of Panipat was fought on 14 January 1761 on the extremely cold day of Makar Sankranti. Peshwa soldiers from Maharashtra, Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh were not used to that cold, nor did they have warm clothing.

The local chieftains did not even provide food and warm clothes to the Peshwa soldiers, saying that, we have no enmity with Abdali.
*But, after winning the battle of Panipat, Abdali and local Muslims harmed more local Hindus and Sikhs.*

Remember those who forget history are condemned to it.

*Shri Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita that...* No one can remain neutral in a crusade... One who is not with Dharma, *will be considered against the Dharma.* United we stand.
