A Christmas story… I’m sure many can relate to. #MerryCovid
My brother’s family were coming to visit my family in regional NSW from Tassie for Chrissy. We haven’t seen each other for >2 years (pandemic). I haven’t met my niece. She is 1.5 yrs old. My brother’s a virologist…
None of us have had covid #CovidMiracle. On the 22nd my brother’s wife tested positive. She’s a teacher. My niece also unwell. Not sure who was patient zero, she attends daycare. She wasn’t allowed to be vaccinated. #ThanksATAGI#ThanksAlbo. Then my brother tested positive…
They canceled flights immediately with the “positive” news. Obtained credits and surprise surprise @Qantas have been a fucking nightmare. With hours spent on the phone trying to book flights in a few weeks.
Instead, we had family Christmas with my 75 yr old Mum…
My mum was really hoping for a family Christmas with all her grandchildren. Instead we had a quieter family Christmas with my two young daughters and hubby. Windows open.
My hubby got a fever Chrissy night… tested positive this morning. Pretty sure he got it from work…
We have spent the night/day isolating, masking around each other. Asking my Mum to organise how she will get antivirals if she test positive. If she can get herself a fucking PCR. It’s likely I’m already infected. My more vulnerable daughter infected and my little one infected.
My 2 daughters had their second dose in March… fucking March. So pretty much unprotected. Once again #ThanksATAGI#ThanksAlbo. I’m a HCW and had my fourth dose in July… what the actual fuck. My hubby August.
@AlboMP why is your covid strategy to infect us all, over and over?
@AlboMP we need a #VaccinePlus strategy… firstly that means access to vaccines 🤯 Secondly that means an education strategy. Where you actually educate the public about why it’s important to wear N95 masks inside. #CovidIsAirborne. It means ventilation mitigation measures…
@AlboMP it means actually trying to lower transmission, so our society can function. Every infection does accumulative harm. How many times will our kids be infected before they are adults? How much long covid is acceptable. How much premature death is acceptable?
@AlboMP how much cardiac issues, strokes, Alzheimer’s…
I’m not sure how the end of this story goes… will my brother get early Alzheimers? He has no sense of smell… a sign his olfactory nerve has been damaged from the infection…
Will my hubby die early from a heart attack. An already existing risk factor in his family. Or will my mums Alzheimer’s worsen if we happen to have given her covid for Christmas. #ThanksAlbo
And what about my vulnerable daughter. Will she survive? Her 12th birthday is the 28th. Or my other daughter and my little niece. Will one end up like little Lulu with long covid at 11yrs old. How many infection will they have before schools and daycares are made safe @AlboMP?
#MerryCovid everyone and #ThanksAlbo for 25,000 excess deaths which can ultimately be linked to covid. And then there are the +10% left with long covid. 2023 is going to be one hell of a year. Let’s work together to make it #CovidSafe.
Yesterday night I succumbed. We did everything we could to protect the rest of the family from my Hubbies infection. But the thing about covid is that you’re infectious before your symptomatic. So as predicted, I was already infected
And then my vulnerable daughter woke up with fever and aches at 5am. Happy birthday beautiful girl. Covid for your 12th birthday. What a gift. #ThanksAlbo. She is ok. She has been vomiting, sleeping and in pain. My daughter has spent the last 1.5 yr masking at school…
The only one along with her sister. It has been a nightmare. She has been ostracised and bullied by other kids and teachers. She is so strong. She wanted to protect herself because she is at higher risk… but instead her Dad brought it home from his work…
