@NYCHRA and @nysotda need to come together to create a plan of action that immediately addresses this. Families in need should not be forced to wait for a better day. We have a moral responsibility to fix this now
While we wait, families are going without food, homeless families are forced to wait for voucher payments to move into permanent housing, and renters in need of rental aid are being dragged into court to face eviction proceedings.
The sense of urgency required here seems to be missing. This summer we had a lifeguard shortage and both the City and State pulled together a plan of action in just a few days. What prevents us from doing the same here?
