Shooting.
6th and Chicago Ave #MplsDowntown

Police arrived. Victim is shot multiple times. EMS Code 3. Start a supervisor.
Rear of former Erik the Red.
Need more squads.
No pulse, no breathing.
Shooter ran east into 618.
Suspect: Somali M, 30, large afro, 5ft10 to 6ft, gray hoodie, leather jacket, black beanie.

Inside 618 9th Ave S

Confirmed fatal/homicide.

A warrant was executed overnight, and this appears to be the suspect in this shooting homicide.

Idris Abdillahi Haji Mohamed, 27 (other records say he's 28).

Court records indicate he was previously charged w attempted murder but was tossed a plea deal.

Two more twists in this case.

We've learned that this shooting may have occurred during an attempted carjacking and that the suspect in custody may have been the victim.

Also, the suspect in custody has another pending murder case in another MN county. He was out on bail.

Taeshawn Adams-Wright, 18, CHARGED with 2nd degree murder in the MOA homicide. Two unnamed 17 y/o juvis charged.
Complaint describes the group chased down the victim, two fired shots at victim. A gun and casings belonging to the victim were also found. i.e. gunfight inside MOA.

A female bystander/mom was grazed by a bullet after she and her teen daughter dove for cover.

Deandre Depratto, 18, who was also arrested Saturday, was not charged at this time.
The two unnamed 17-year-old juveniles, J.H. and M.T., were charged with 2nd degree riot.
