Based on India’s proposal UN declared 2023 as International Year of Millets.

It starts from today to raise awareness and to bring back millets on your table.
Millets are coarse grains, divided in two groups; Major millets (Shorghum and Pearl millets) and Small millets (Madua/Ragi, Kodo, Kutaki, Sawan etc). They have their many local names in our country. Most common names are Jwar-Bajra. Though we use hear Kodo-Sawan in our childhood.
For the last couple of years we are consuming Bajra which is produced well in Rajasthan. However, I tried ‘roti’ of Kodo as well.
Recently tasted Ragi laddoos made out of Ragi flour and jaggery. They were delicious and good for health since rich in minerals.
Not only humans but elephants too like Ragi laddoos which are offered to patrolling elephants in many parts of the country. #millets
You can also create awareness and bring back millets to on your dining tables. They are local, hardy and climate resilient. They are full of fibres and minerals. You can start with Bajra mixed roti and Ragi laddoos made out of jaggery. #millets

After watching #PushpaTheRule based on illegal smuggling of Red Sanders, many stories including cracking the then biggest international gang, getting its kingpin, who was a Moreh based Tamil, arrested from Chennai and interrogating him at Raipur almost a decade back got refreshed.
Red Sanders have being seized by Forests, Police, DRI, Customs, Border Guarding Forces from every corners of the country. Names like Kaza, Moreh, Nathula and Nyoma will ring the bell of how it is smuggled through some of the remotest part of the country. PC-Net
Red Sanders (Pterocarpus santalinus) is only found in India and is endemic to a small pocket of Andhra Pradesh spreading mainly in Cudapa, Chittor, Nellore, Kurnool and Prakasam districts. #UPSC
