I'm a cardiologist who deals with cardiac arrhythmias. I'll weigh on #DamarHamlin and the cause of his cardiac arrest. The truth is no one knows. Into the vacuum of unknown "experts" like to plant their agenda. 1/5
Could it be Commotio Cordis? It's possible. Commotio Cordis is normally found in children with a more flexible chest wall. I've never heard of it in adults. The chance of such an event is rare, even in children. 2/5
Could it be COVID-vaccine related myocarditis? I suppose. However, no professional would list that at the top of the differential. More likely, it may have been related to COVID, or several other viruses, itself. 3/5
There's also an unlikely myocardial infarction, ARVC, long QT syndrome, sarcoidosis, hemachromatosis, and even possibly, CPMVT, WPW (with AF), or Brugada. I've probably missed a few others. The thing is we won't know for weeks, if ever. 4/5
I expect, and pray, that Damar Hamlin will make a full neurological and physical recovery. Sadly, I also expect his professional career as an athlete has come to an end. 5/5
Of course, I forgot hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

As you’re driving through California on Highway 101, pull off at Nipomo and visit (the unmarked) site of the greatest American photograph ever recorded (“Migrant Mother,” March 1936).
So, if you get off Highway 101 onto South Thompson Avenue (the old 101) at Nipomo, all along the old highway were 11 settlements of migrants, about 3000 of them, all living there in March 1936.
Normally a picker could make 22-cents a hamper in 1936.

I attended a Zoom meeting of doctors who, as a subculture, is not used to technology (we are the "Reply All" crowd), nor understands the "MUTE" function. Some guy in the middle of the meeting says, "This guy's a fucking idiot." And that ended the meeting.
Best part. There are like 160 doctors in this meeting. After the meeting ended, the guy who ran the meeting immediately calls me, and asks me if I was the one that made the comment.
I'm not saying Cardiac Electrophysiology is the superior medical field. But as a bunch of techno-geeks we can identify the MUTE button during on-line conferencing.
