Will Bunch: Lots of politicians lie abt their education, but Santos went further by saying he was a star volleyball player in college. His mother died 2x, once on 9/11 and again in 2016. He's a compulsive liar. The fact he's been in Congress a week is just appalling.

Rick: Who ran against George Santos? Why didn't they discover these lies? It was nice the NYT came out with the article but it would have been more helpful BEFORE the election!

Will Bunch: Nassau County on Long Island has its own small town newspaper; I know they covered the heck out of local Congressional races in the 80's. (con't)

Will Bunch: (con't) We wouldn't have let that happen back then b/c we spent too much time on those races. Now those races get cursory coverage if they get any coverage at all.

Will Bunch: George Santos should have resigned now that his lies have been exposed. The day that NYT article came out should have been the end of his career, but since Trump told 30,000 lies while in office, why should Santos resign?

Will Bunch: McCarthy's keeping Santos around because there'll be times when he needs that one more vote--like to become Speaker & to pass the rules package.

Will Bunch: I think the biggest problem in the country right now is the total disconnect between what the majority of the country wants vrs what's going on in Congress. It could be in part the Supreme Court.
