I don't personally blame Dr. Topol from constantly spewing misinformation about what the vaccines do, and what the vaccines don't do. Wait, yes I do. We never stopped working on a MERS/SARS vaccine and the greatest obstacle was always obtaining long-term immunity.

The amount of bullshit from science-denying skeptical anti-vaxxers, is justifiable bullshit because Dr. Topol is constantly misrepresenting the vaccine solution.

Why doesn't Dr. Eric Topol take a swing at the low-hanging fruit of masks, you know, the ones the nurses about to go on strike have been arguing for some time?

The obstacles for the United Nations to be an effective intergovernmental agency to achieve the goals of World Peace, Human Rights and equality on a healthy planet are not obstacles of the UN or the UN Charter.

The obstacles are individual nations seeking individual solutions.

More than anyone Dr. Topol and Andre Picard are fully aware of the #PrecautionaryPrinciple and it's meaning in a healthcare setting.
So why not point out the complete abandonment of PPE by your nation's political leaders?

Many people can’t read the article by @EricTopol and don’t understand why I’m so angry.

Only current XBB.1.5 antibodies from a recent XBB.1.5 vaccine we don’t have could prevent “infection” and that is why I’m angry with Dr. Topol.

Antibodies from current vaccine or infection have a numerical insignificant reduction of infection.

Vaccination prevents death, but that’s not what Dr. Topol is saying.

He is misrepresenting what the effectiveness of the vaccine can achieve against infection as well as LongSARS. This is the sort of nuance that damages public confidence!

For the pandemic to end, we require an end of transmission.

Vaccines can’t provide a solution to end transmission and the problem is with human immunity system vs HCoVs. We have known that for decades and Dr. Topol seems to be wilfully ignorant about XBB.1.5 immunity evasion.

I should have spoken up earlier about the damage this person has done to undermine the public trust of Public Health and provide the scientific skeptics with all the reasons to be skeptical of Public Health guidance.

Undermining PHOs to push a vaccine solution, has done more harm than good. If we were dealing with a “one-and-done” influenza pandemic, Dr. Topol would be right.

SARS is NOT the flu!
