For anyone who is migrating to #Pathfinder2e from #dnd5e, I've been running adventure paths for almost a decade now and have read through or ran all the 2e adventure paths. TLDR they are all extremely high quality, but have pros and cons. Here is a quick review of them: 1/x
Age of Ashes: The first adventure path released in 2e and a quintessential adventure. While I enjoyed parts of this adventure, they hadn't quite nailed down encounter balance yet and it can get *very* lethal. 2/x
Extinction Curse: This path is kind of broken into two separate parts, both of which are really good but don't really play well with each other. The initial premise of a traveling circus run by the PCs is great but gets abandoned halfway through for a very interesting plot. 3/x
Agents of Edgewatch: a lvl 1-20 adventure where the players are members of the city guard for Absalom. Filled with wonderful takes on classic tropes like a casino heist and a murder mystery. A great balance of rp to combat. My personal favorite. 4/x
Abomination Vaults: A lvl 1-10 adventure, this is one of the best dungeon crawls written. The dungeon itself is creatively designed and has moments of cool rp, and the city near the dungeon is brought to life as well. Not your classic hack-and-slash in a good way. 5/x
Fists of the Ruby Phoenix: A lvl 11-20 adventure. This one is anime as hell, essentially a DBZ-esque tournament for ultimate glory. Extremely cinematic and perfect for players who want to get right into the action. 6/x
Strength of Thousands: A lvl 1-20 adventure. The magic school adventure. Very very RP heavy as players go from students to professors of a prestigious magic school. IMO the best world-building in an adventure path, be prepared to roleplay as a lot of complicated npcs. 7/x
Quest for the Frozen Flame: A 1-10 adventure. This one focuses on survival and exploration over a grand narrative, with the story focusing on a single tribe in the north. More down to earth than the other paths, as you just want to save your tribe, not stop a God. 8/x
Outlaws of Alkenstar: A 1-10 adventure. Steampunk western in a land where magic doesn't work. Very cinematic but also more on rails (not inherently a bad thing!) than other adventures. Almost like playing in a blockbuster movie. 9/x
Blood Lords: A lvl 1-20 adventure. Moving up the political ranks in a land ruled by undead. IMO more campy horror than truly scary which I prefer but ymmv. Some very memorable NPCs and a good balance of RP to combat (plus players can become undead, which is awesome).
I knew I forgot one! Kingmaker is a 1-20 adventure where the players build their own kingdom. The ultimate sandbox campaign and great for dms who want to really tailor the adventure to their players but it is a lot of work.
This really blew up! Remember that the best way to use any pre-written adventure is as a skeleton for your campaign while adding any muscle you want tailored to your players. Having pre-built maps and monsters gives you room to add more personal touches.
