"We are dismayed that the CBC has dipped into a quality of journalism that has parallels with the Murdoch organization. In our view, these follow up stories represent character assassination."

Understanding #CovidIsVascular & #COVIDIsAirborne changes the risk calculus, mitigations & collective responsibilities. Long term & permanent harms from COVID infections are significant & common. I'm grateful for experts who speak out despite career risks.
Fortune & Forbes get it. So does US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Actuaries and financial experts understand the systemic economic consequences of preventable Long COVID and deaths.
"We discovered that influenza and COVID-19 destroy a previously unknown natural immunity that we need to resist invasive fungal infections," says Nicole Sarden, a PhD candidate at the University of Calgary and first author on the study.
This Wired story, one of the most important of the pandemic, came out 22 days after the April 2021 @CBCNews story . Strangely, 200 ID docs never challenged @WIRED or @MeganMolteni on the veracity of this story, to my knowledge, as they did with @CBCOmbud.
John Horgan built his brand on Geoff Meggs' 'The Bonnie Henry Mom & Pop Show', with Bonnie playing BC's mom to John's paternalistic 50s throwback dad. John was told to stand near Bonnie from time to time and smile and wave. It worked for a time & ended badly.
A 🧵:
Who wrote Bonnie's script?
Why has Bonnie's script been joined at the hip to Deena Hinshaw's in Alberta?
Why have BC & Alberta been at variance with the WHO, the USCDC and global scientific consensus ever since we stopped banging our pots and pans together every night at 7 pm?
#HenryAndHinshaw both adhere to Dr. John Conly's opinions. See mark 1:17:09 in this June 22, 2022 webinar for John's shout out and his accolades for Hinshaw & Henry while he disparages critical scientists and his peers with ad hominem attacks. ecme.ucalgary.ca/covid-19-cme-r…
Less than 2.5 hours of exposure while wearing an N99 was enough for my partner to be infected by super transmissible Omicron.
Public Health turned Politicians have left us on our own & there is no magic bullet. Individuals can only mitigate a moderate amount of risk.
Learning to "Live with COVID" is a goal that requires a collective response. In this so called Urgency of Normal, as people lose their resilience & choose denial over reality, collective action has been shunned and vilified, including by many psychologists & healthcare providers.
This is far from normal. This is an #UrgencyofEquity. Individuals must now learn how to make & accept a reasonable risk calculus of unreasonable harms every day while the non-resilient people around them can decrease that risk by an order of magnitude, but choose their #freedumb.
CO2 monitors are a transformational tool in the PPE kit people need for accurate, real-time risk mitigation. I carry one everywhere now. They should be in every classroom when schools re-open for f2f learning. As with all PPE, there must be equitable access. A (20)22 tweet 🧵:

There are a variety of CO2 monitors to choose from. For accuracy, you want one with an NDIR sensor. They cost a bit more and are worth it. There are pros and cons to different models.

Factors to consider in selection: 1. NDIR CO2 sensor 2. $ 3. Accuracy 4. Size & weight 5. Durability 6. Battery power 7. Portability 8. App & Connectivity 9. Historical data 10. Screen 11. Other sensors of interest 12. Your usage needs and patterns
