🧵:
4 years ago today, I told my kids that Bonnie Henry is a problem for 🇨🇦 public health, especially in British Columbia. Her outright dismissal of 239 of the world’s leading scientists as a ‘Tempest in a Teapot’ is damning.

I told my kids I’d do everything in my power - whatever that might be - to make schools safer for them & their peers again. Anti-vaxxers stirred up by the far right added complexity to the fight between uninformed medical doctors & trained scientists.

Image Questions Unanswered:
To what degree are John Conly’s, Bonnie Henry’s & their IPC/ID allies’ catastrophic errors:

1. Unfortunate (though egregious)?
2. Intentional?
3. Rooted in an agenda?
4. Malfeasance?
5. Fraudulent?
6. Coordinated?
7. Systemic from local health —> WHO?

@KashPrime You're correct, Kashif. The CO2 levels in the room were usually about 900-1000 ppm without doctors, nurses etc milling about. With the window open, it could be brought down to 800. When it was busy in the double room, it easily hit 1200 ppm and took ages to come down. @KashPrime My mom's roommate was due for discharge on Friday March 31st but developed severe symptoms before the logistics were sorted out, so she was encouraged to stay for the weekend. Her roommate was extremely sick the whole time...

"SARS, initially considered a severely acute illness that would resolve like other pneumonias, has turned out to be a chronic disease with symptoms that researchers speculate could persist for life." 1/ 2/
“It certainly is something that’s unfolding that we’re learning about. We couldn’t know this before because it [SARS] is a completely new disease."

#LongCovid IS Covid. This disease disables people at least 4x more than polio & spreads more quickly. Politicians & PH officials, including @justintrudeau, @cafreeland, @phac_canada, @jasoncoppingab, & @adriandix, were warned. A 🧵: 2/ directly years ago that a mass-disabling event triggering systemic social, political, & economic consequences will result from the anti-science, anti-equity lies of #VaxAndRelax public health policy pushers.

John Horgan built his brand on Geoff Meggs' 'The Bonnie Henry Mom & Pop Show', with Bonnie playing BC's mom to John's paternalistic 50s throwback dad. John was told to stand near Bonnie from time to time and smile and wave. It worked for a time & ended badly.

A 🧵: Who wrote Bonnie's script?

Why has Bonnie's script been joined at the hip to Deena Hinshaw's in Alberta?

Why have BC & Alberta been at variance with the WHO, the USCDC and global scientific consensus ever since we stopped banging our pots and pans together every night at 7 pm?

Less than 2.5 hours of exposure while wearing an N99 was enough for my partner to be infected by super transmissible Omicron.

Public Health turned Politicians have left us on our own & there is no magic bullet. Individuals can only mitigate a moderate amount of risk. Learning to "Live with COVID" is a goal that requires a collective response. In this so called Urgency of Normal, as people lose their resilience & choose denial over reality, collective action has been shunned and vilified, including by many psychologists & healthcare providers.

CO2 monitors are a transformational tool in the PPE kit people need for accurate, real-time risk mitigation. I carry one everywhere now. They should be in every classroom when schools re-open for f2f learning. As with all PPE, there must be equitable access. A (20)22 tweet 🧵:

There are a variety of CO2 monitors to choose from. For accuracy, you want one with an NDIR sensor. They cost a bit more and are worth it. There are pros and cons to different models.
