In the early hrs of Sunday January 15, 2023 at 1:45 am, shots were fired into a vehicle near the “The Strip” not far from the University Campus.
According to investigators, the incident began when the parties involved engaged in a minor argument along the strip beforehand.

The victim Jamea Harris, 23 was injured by a stray bullet & was deceased after the suspects opened fire into the vehicle that she was a passenger in
It was later confirmed that the shooters were Michael Lynn Davis, 20, & University of Alabama basketball player Darius Miles, 21.

One of the suspects was also treated for a gunshot injury due to the driver of Jamea Harris’ vehicle shooting back in self defense, at this time it is unclear which suspect was injured.

Darius Miles was arrested on campus. As law enforcement escorts him into a vehicle he tries to speak to someone watching, saying “I swear I love you more than you can imagine.”
