Possible targets for the activities of the 3 "spanish" divers in Gdansk the other day include one oil tanker, one LPG tanker and two ships from South America. A thread.
Assumption: The 3 "spanish" divers that did something the night of 14/15 Jan at Gdansk anchorage must have had strong motivations to do what they did in stormy, cold, dangerous conditions. The day after was much more gentle. Timing likely played a key role.
Facts: Four ships left soon after divers activities.
Hypothesis: One of these were the target:
Etagas, IMO 9553634, arrived from Sweden to Gdansk anchorage, left 230116-04:51UTC to Gdansk harbour. Currently presumed to be loading LPG in Gdansk harbour, based on reported draught and position.
Ramanda, IMO 9739812. Spent last month shipping oil(?) between NL-SE-FI-PL.
Ramanda stayed for only 27 hours at Gdansk anchorage 230114-15.
Arrived Gdansk unloaded, left almost full en route to Finland, FIPRV, Porvoo.
Bao Feng, IMO 9563536 Freighter. Travelled from Brazil - West Africa - Spain -Gdansk anchorage - left 230116-17:00UTC
Thousand Springs, IMO 9867425, Freighter, arrived from Colombia to Gdansk, left anchorage 230116-05:00UTC
These 4 ships might have been targets for the activity of the divers. The first two are the more eerie ones. They are fully loaded with flammable materials and integral parts of EU energy infrastructure. I do hope our intelligence services are sure they are not targets.
The latter two would indicate possible smuggling of drugs based on their earlier whereabouts.
According to todays rather limited Polish press the 3 divers were never identified, used false phone numbers and were released shortly after the rescue and are now in unknown locations.
Something actually giving some credence to the "diving for amber"-claim is that the SAR boat started their search pattern along the beach, presumably cause this position was reported by the divers. And with no propulsion the wind might have pushed them to the anchorage.
Update 18/1: Friday "spanish" divers borrow diving equipment, saturday they drive 150 km to buy a shitty boat at an overprice, claim "fishing", then drive back 150 km with just hours to spare before diving.
update 18/1:
Ramanda, IMO 9739812 is docked in Porvoo, FI, a petrochemical storage/refinery port.
Etagas, IMO 9553634 is about to unload in Karlshamn, SE, presumably to fill up Swedens reserve power plant.
None of them seems to have been searched so far judging from AIS tracks.
Thousand Springs and Bao Feng are docked in Gdansk.

A story about the Nord stream sabotages and a peculiar grand old Russian tall ship moving close to Swedish law enforcement. Meet STS Sedov. Thread. 🧵
Sedov was made in Germany in 1921 but was transfered to Soviet Union in 1945 as war reparation. She is a four-masted steel barque and a common sight on tall ship race´s around the world. Kaliningrad University is the current manager. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STS_Sedov
The last week Sedov has been slowly moving around island of Bornholm. Never further away from the leaks than about 60NM. At the time of the explosions the distance was 50NM. Or an hour for a fast small boat.
