i recently posted something about @MarkHertling after he posted things about the M1 tank. things that are 100% untrue. i may have been a little harsh about my reply to him.

here is the simple truth, we are here to help ukr, not say things that may hurt them.
@MarkHertling many people in the political world do not want to give ukr tanks for political reasons.. fine, if thats the case please say it out loud. thats fine i can respect that. i dont agree but who am i? no one.
@MarkHertling some people dont want to give ukr tanks due to cost... ok 100 tanks + parts + training + support + ammo is about 2.5 billion. got it that can buy a lot of himars rockets.. if thats the issue than fine at least say that.
@MarkHertling BUT most are saying things that are totally untrue, and a simple google search or talking to people in the military that know what they are talking about would fix in 10 min.
@MarkHertling fuel, the M1 can run on ANYTHING from gas to oil, the best fuels are JP4,5, 8, and diesel. the new versions of the tanks have a APU installed to run the tank systems and keep the batteries charged. this makes the M1 more fuel efficient than the leo2 overall
@MarkHertling thats right THE M1 WITH THE APU IS MORE FUEL EFFICIENT THAN THE LEO2.
@MarkHertling weight. the current M1A2 is 71 tons, the leo A6 is 68.9 tons... 2 tons different. if a bridge can take a leo it can take a M1. and ukr has bought a bunch of french premade 100 ton bridges that are being installed all over ukr right now.
@MarkHertling but maintenance??? the M1 motor has 1 moving part.... the leo2 has over 200 in its motor and the motor lasts about 1/2 the time of the M1s.

it takes less time to change a M1 motor than a leo 2.
@MarkHertling also as we have seen with the (GER) PZH2000 and the (US) M109 the US 109 is fixed in the field for everything. the PZH2000 has to be sent out of country due to it being german and to complex to be fixed in ukr (due to its turret having to be removed for service)
@MarkHertling parts.. the leo 2 parts CAN ONLY BE MADE IN GERMANY (due to contracting). so the stockpiles of parts are in germany. thats why people are reluctant to send tanks to ukr. germany will sit on the needed parts and after a week or 2 the tanks wont work any more.
@MarkHertling major parts where houses for M1, permisance, honenfelds ger, poland, Egypt, saudi, aust, etc..
ANY part needed is just a DHL/C17 flight to poland, a short MI-17 hop to the front in ukraine.. anything (part) short of a motor is doable in just 2-3 hrs.
@MarkHertling training and upkeep.. please dont bring up training. the 1st tank brigade with old T64s kept the best of the russian army from kyiv for 2 months. probably the most experienced crews in the world right now.
@MarkHertling upkeep and maintenance... ukr is one of the FEW countries in the world that has made there own modern tanks. upkeep is NOT a issue.
the M1 is one of the most easiest tanks in the world to keep running with a motivated crew. its proven that ukr troops are motivated.
@MarkHertling the motor, is a jet engine made for fighter aircraft...
in europe the countries that can make jet aircraft.. UK, GER, IT, SW... and UKR... ukr has plenty of exp with jet engines... but most would be fixed by GD civilian tecs in poland
@MarkHertling training, a again... if Iraqi, Saudi, Egypt troops can use the M1... my god dont make me say it.... in the hands of ukr troops (again probably some of the best in the world right now) will have no issues. so please no.
@MarkHertling ammo....
no shortage, over 1 million rounds for the 120mm are in europe, and thank god most are not swiss. ammo is NOT a problem.
@MarkHertling so in closing please if anyone can retweet this to
@MarkHertling i would love to have a talk with him on why he still thinks why the UKR forces should not get the M1.
@MarkHertling again i got it politics, cost, etc... but be up front about it.. there is NO practical reason why the M1 should not go to UKR. and if you dont know, thats ok to, thats what NCOs are here for, to help officers figure things out. i am willing to help.

3-4 locations in russia have ask local governments to break away from the russian federation and be there own countries. how long can the federation last when the real numbers of dead are released?
people are asking me for "source" for this.
i have had long sit downs with a few russians outside russia that were willing to talk to me openly.
everyone knows someone that is dead now it seems..
the quality of life has fallen
most russians know its a lie now (WAR)
one of the people i talked to stated that the "russian first" party (putins) was run out of the city and the commies are back in charge. this central russian republic has sent papers to moscow demanding freedom from moscow.

for the last 20 years germany has set on "soft power" to try to get things done. it has not worked. many in the german government want no more military or weapons AT ALL.
the are happy with letting nato and the USA pick up the bill. every time they get a new system they cut back and say they are being "more modern"
look at the CH47 deal.. its a med helo and they are getting. 60
they are replacing the CH53 HEAVY lift helo (66 of them)
so they are replacing 66 heavy with 60 med helos..
and its not just that...
the POS fr attack helos, they cant get them to work properly.. so they ask the US not to remove or shrink the US avi. brigade with its AH64 BN.. they ask the US to cover ger due to a bad helo purchase

what im predicting...
tanks..
at SOME point SOME western tanks will get to ukr...
but i think it will be more of a political move than tactical... dont get me wrong i am all for them getting tanks but this way would be a mess.
here is why...
the UK has stated that they may send 10 tanks.. challenger 2s .. great tank.
poland... a company of tanks..... 10 leo 2A4Ps or 5Ps
finland may send some leo2A4s with IDF sights and upgrades
spain may send some leopard 2EA6
canada may send some leo 2A4M CAN
add to the list any leo1s, Fr tanks, It tanks, etc a fleet of 100 tanks you could have 10 different sets of logistics.. that could be a nightmare. yes send tanks but maybe the EU could buy 100 M1s or something like that. getting 100 diffrent tanks will be a nightmare to field

the best way that ukraine can get modern nato standard tanks... build them!!!

ukr was one of the largest tank manufactures in the world at one time. all the MTLBs, and the T64s were made in ukraine. the factory is still there and so are the tools and people. Image
the hull (T64) is a reasonably good hull, and after some modifications and reinforcements could be a great doner vehicle for new turrets and future stronger motors (that the can build or import - not import restricted) Image
the tools to build the vehicles are in ukraine at the old factroies or in ukraine, or can be bought from around the world (again not import restricted). many of the tools needed are the same ones needed to build rail cars or busses. (ukr tanks still in storage in kharkiev) Image

release the leopards...
im all for it..
but in reality.. what leopards?
there are 100 leo 1s in storage in germany. they have been there for 30 years. they would take months to get battle ready to go and many of the spare parts are gone.. and again we are talking about 100 max!
leo 2s. here is the issues, after the cold war they really stopped making them. they build kits and modify them now. not new hulls. many have been stored outside unused and unloved for decades
no one is going to give a leo2 to ukr that is part of its national defense plan (ger, pol, turk, greek, dutch, can, etc..). they are not going to strip the tanks from there own units.

what im seeing..
euro weapons and issues.
the last few months SOME (not all) of the euro weapons have failed, and failed hard.
when the US gets a new weapon they beat the crap out of it in testing. they take it to the most god awful place in the world, white sands, and NTC.
then alaska, then the swamps of south east.

we give it to the dumbest troops, we break it, then we fix it and break it again.. we piss off the contractors and make them redesign it over and over (HMMWV).
we make changes and FIX the issues with a crap rifle (M16), and then instead of replacing it we learn from the issues, fix it again and again and make the BEST rifle in the world (M16)...

we have a budget cap for most of them (dont count the F35). but expect some over charging
