If what we witnessed was the very best of the Scottish Parliament then Holyrood needs a new sign above the door "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here". The process was shameful, amateurish, rushed and lacking in curiosity. 2/

The article doesn't mention women once, you know that group of people impacted if now anyone in Scotland over 16yrs can apply to change legal sex and magically become female. Still, who cares about the potential impact on more than 51% of the population?

We're getting a bit bored, to be honest, of the make believe claim that the ability to self identify as a different sex was in the SNP manifesto (children, it wasn't in the 2021 manifesto & we assume people vote on the most recent manifesto, not a previous 1 they quite liked?) 4/

P33's interesting though as it claims Gov will consult with women (the women women?). (Non-@scotgov-funded) women's groups were only contacted for a 30 min discussion *after* @ShonaRobison was shamed by the press into doing it : archive.ph/hfHYz /6

Of course, none of us knew at the time that the draft Bill had already been passed to the Presiding Officer, so our conversations were completely pointless & just for show. /7

So, while we appreciate the bedtime story from Ms Robison, we suggest everyone takes it with a pinch of salt. Instead, click your heels together 3 times & wish that @ScotSecofState uses the #Section35 to scrutinise the impact of the #GRRBill on women across the whole of the UK 🪄
