If what we witnessed was the very best of the Scottish Parliament then Holyrood needs a new sign above the door "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here". The process was shameful, amateurish, rushed and lacking in curiosity. 2/
The article doesn't mention women once, you know that group of people impacted if now anyone in Scotland over 16yrs can apply to change legal sex and magically become female. Still, who cares about the potential impact on more than 51% of the population?
3/
We're getting a bit bored, to be honest, of the make believe claim that the ability to self identify as a different sex was in the SNP manifesto (children, it wasn't in the 2021 manifesto & we assume people vote on the most recent manifesto, not a previous 1 they quite liked?) 4/
P33's interesting though as it claims Gov will consult with women (the women women?). (Non-@scotgov-funded) women's groups were only contacted for a 30 min discussion *after* @ShonaRobison was shamed by the press into doing it : archive.ph/hfHYz /6
Of course, none of us knew at the time that the draft Bill had already been passed to the Presiding Officer, so our conversations were completely pointless & just for show. /7 forwomen.scot/02/04/2022/mee…
So, while we appreciate the bedtime story from Ms Robison, we suggest everyone takes it with a pinch of salt. Instead, click your heels together 3 times & wish that @ScotSecofState uses the #Section35 to scrutinise the impact of the #GRRBill on women across the whole of the UK 🪄

There's going to be a rally in Glasgow on Sun 5th Feb, organised by @ThePosieParker. She wants women to attend & speak about how they feel about their rights, experiences & worries. Some unpleasant men don't like women with opinions so they will come to shout at the bad women 1/
There's an over 18yrs 'furrie convention' in Glasgow that weekend so they are being encouraged to come & shout at the women. In their furrie fetish gear. What is a furrie you ask? Well from their conference webpage : 2/ scotiacon.org.uk/about-us.html
Unsurprisingly, there is no mention of any sexual activity, but it's a given it's there (no, don't even think about how they clean their furrie suits, *if* they clean them) urbandictionary.com/define.php?ter… 3/
An animated story in 3 parts: 1) a @labour MP has an almighty tantrum because a woman dared to speak. He was very angry, unnecessarily angry while in his workplace. So what prompted this vitriol? Let's see 1/
2)Here'ss a longer video which shows what & who @lloyd_rm was responding to. Note, Lloyd is at the top right of the screen in the Labour seats. Miriam Cates, who appears first, is in the bottom left, on the Tory benches. Does Lloyd just rant & sit down? 2/
3) Oh no. Ranting at a female fellow MP in their place of work is not enough for @lloyd_rm, he has to move, first to sit directly across the floor from Miriam, to glare at her (he's now bottom right in this photo, staring at her) 3/
While Scotland waits as Westminster decides whether to stop @ScotGovFM from passing legislation that will impact the whole of the UK (allowing anyone over 16 to change their legal sex, #GRRBill), we direct your eyes to the next ideological bill to be passed through Holyrood 1/
The phrase you'll be hearing constantly will be "Conversion Therapy" & you need to remember this is yet another attempt at corrupting language. The definition is so broad that if you dare to ask if the girl claiming she's a boy is absolutely sure, that's conversion therapy 2/
The "End Conversion Therapy" petition was started by @ECTScotland (anonymous little group of @scottishgreens leaning activists) who conveniently conflate pressure on LGB people to abandon their sexual orientation with explorative therapy into people questioning their "gender" 3/
Imagine Scotland had a high bar to define a thing, say haggis, but England decided to redefine haggis to be anything that identified as haggis (like pasties) but demanded to be allowed into Scotland & for pasties to be labelled haggis, @scottishgreens would be annoyed, right? 1/
Well @MaggieChapman is getting annoyed that @ScottishGreens & @SP_EHRCJ (Maggie is Deputy Convener) want to drop the bar so anyone can be legally defined as female, a level much lower than the rest of the UK, Westminster have noticed & said "wait one cotton picking minute". 2/ twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
So we have Maggie ranting about rights of pasties while screwing over the native haggises. Maggie's joined by big pastie fans @stonewalluk, claiming some imaginary overwhelming pastie mandate (well of course pasties will be happy, but anyone asked haggises how they feel?)
By now if you follow this account you'll know that the Gender Recognition Reform Bill is hovering on the brink of being passed in Scotland (vote on 21st Dec). If you live elsewhere in the UK it will still impact you, we hope you realise? #NoToSelfID 1/
Currently in UK you need a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria, to be over 18 & to have lived 'in your acquired gender' for 2 years. But...what happens when a 16yr old Scot goes down south, with the ink still fresh on their birth certificate where M has been changed to F? 2/
This trans-identifying male has no medical diagnosis, and may have worn the odd skirt for 3 months. They expect to access female spaces & activities despite the bar being much higher in RUK. In the same way, an English student may spend their first term in Scottish uni 3/
@StephenFlynnSNP, new Westminster SNP leader, has just been interviewed on Radio Scotland. He supports the contentious #GRRBill he says because of this story. The story of a female who declared themselves a man but died from a female-specific cancer 1/ archive.vn/G9lev
It's a fascinating story to use as justification for self ID, but probably not in the way Mr Flynn thinks. Self ID allows you to change your certificated sex, including the single sex/gender marker on their NHS record. If you change this from F to M & you won't 2/ #NoToSelfID
receive the calls for screening you need, such as for cervical screening, a worrying inflexibility in the NHS which relies on individuals accepting the need for sex-based healthcare & the inability to identify out of it.
A 2nd issue with the story is that the MPs relative 3/
