We all know every word Republicans say is a lie. We all know most of what they say is just for trolling purposes.
I hope you all know by now not to argue with them, or to take their nonsense seriously.
Don't respond to them unless it's to mock them.

Republicans believe in nothing, and all their rhetoric is (at best) empty. They're anti-life, anti-America, anti-"liberty". They're pro-hate, pro-violence, and pro-fascist.
This doesn't mean they aren't a danger. They are. Take the danger seriously, not their words.
2/4
Republicans are not hypocrites. They're liars, and they're proud of their lies. Which is why pointing out facts, data, and their naked hypocrisy will never have any effect. They're =proud= of saying nothing that's true, and amused at your consternation.

So don't bother to argue with their mendacity. Just work to defeat them. The only thing they want is power. Deny that to them.
Anti-vaxx nutcase here as a demonstration, responding to my thread, displaying the typical inflammatory attack, begging for a response. Block this troll.
The laws Trump potentially broke had NOTHING to do with the documents being classified.
He had thousands of docs owned by the National Archives (NARA), which NARA asked him to give back. He denied he had them, then returned some. NARA found out he had more, ...

... asked for them back, too. Trump denied he had them. FBI got a warrant, and seized them.
So, Trump stole documents, denied it, got them taken back. NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM BEING CLASSIFIED. He had no right to hold any of them. He stole them and lied (to federal agents).

Biden's people accidentally packed some government documents when his offices were closing in early 2017. They were moved to Biden's home and office. When discovered, they were turned back to NARA without anyone even asking for them.
This isn't a gotcha question, just an honest curiosity. I don't expect anyone to answer. I'll probably have to google it.
What do flat-earthers say happens if you fall of the edge of the world? Where do you go? Do you fall into Hell or something?
1/4
If you just fall forever and there's nothing under there, where does gravity come from? Why is there an up and a down?
Or if the sky is a physical bowl set onto the flat disk of the world and blocking its edge so you can't fall off, why has no one ever touched the wall?
2/4
I'm sure there are answers to these questions, and flat earthers have theories about that. I'm just curious, probably because I write fantasy and science fiction, and I'm thinking about writing a novel set in a flat earth. Gotta work out the physics of it.

Remember when Republicans promised, if they took control of the House, to elect Trump as Speaker so he'd be second in line for the Presidency, and then they could impeach Biden and Harris, and Trump would be president again--and everybody panicked?
You should know better by now.
Seriously, when Republicans say they're gonna do stupid impossible stuff that can't be done--they're not gonna do it, because it can't be done.
They just say that crap because they love seeing you scared, and it seems plausible because they've done so much utterly insane crap.
But there's a difference between "insane" and "impossible." Republicans are trying very hard to blur the line, because Reality™ doesn't mean anything to them, and they're trying to erase the concept entirely, even from your mind.
Starting on page 42, the proposed rules for the 118th Congress establish a "Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic" which is charged to "investigate" (among other things):
* "the origins of the Coronavirus pandemic, including but not limited to the Federal Government’s funding of gain-of-function research" (i.e., conspiracy theories about Dr. Fauci),
2/8
* "the development and implementation of vaccination policies for Federal employees and members of the armed forces" (i.e., other conspiracies about federal vaccine mandates),

I'm working through the proposed Rules for the 188th Congress under Speaker Reek McQarthy. It's really dense reading, and lots of it are things it would take an expert to understand. Here are some preliminary impressions (I'm about halfway through):
One of three things will happen. I don't know which, but from least likely to most likely:
1) Some "moderate" Republicans make a deal with Democrats and elect a compromise candidate. (REALLY not likely, but possible.)
1/4
2) McQarthy withdraws and lets some other candidate win. (Not likely either, and I have no idea who the Never Kev-ers and the McQarthyites can both agree to.)
3) Qevin (metaphorically) sells his balls to the Cthulhu Caucus who'll control him with puppet strings for 2 years.
2/4
Third option seems to me most likely, but even that is a long shot, since the Never Kev-ers are willing to end democracy, and this is an easy way to do it--that is, kill the House of Representatives until it's dead, but on TV so they get media time.
