I agree that we shouldn't give in to "nuclear blackmail". We shouldn't let nuclear threats stop us from doing the right thing. But I'm not convinced that continuing to arm Ukraine to spite a nuclear armed country is "right". Russia is in Ukraine to protect Donbass from Nazis.

This "nuclear blackmail" thing is a line I used to fall for. "We gonna let big bad Russia get away with this? Hell no!" But I now realize - get away with what? Stopping the new Nazi Menace? We should be on Russia's side on this, like we were in WW2. Why aren't we?

I draw a red line at helping the 4th Reich. Realizing that you're on the side of folks who want to start WW3 to "lead the white nations in a final crusade against the semite-led untermenschen" should make any decent person hit the brakes.

I don't know how any decent person doesn't feel dirty when they realize that they're on the Nazi side of this fight. Why do they stick with it instead of washing their hands of the dirty Euromaidan? What stops them from changing course? Pride? Emotional investment? What?

Returning to the first Tweet in this thread: It's idiotic to do dumb shit, like arming Nazis with genocidal goals, just to spite Putin. People are being played. I realize it's embarrassing to admit falling for dumbassery, but is helping Nazis really worth saving face?

I also no longer think that what Rus is doing should be considered "nuclear blackmail". Rus is simply reminding us that they have nukes and are willing to use them if they're confronted w/ an existential threat. They are warning that war against them wouldn't be a cake walk...

These warnings should give our leaders pause. They should be evaluating whether Ukraine's "territorial integrity" is worth starting WW3 over. But they don't bother thinking things through, because for many of them, WW3 against the East was the goal all along.

Before Rus even launched their SMO, I told a NeoCon acquaintance of mine that provoking Rus would lead to WW3. He said, "You say that as if it would be a bad thing." NeoCons were always hot to trot for WW3... they just can't wait pick up the mantle to finish what Hitler started.

This part is a lie. Resistance movements in Southern Africa were not peaceful. They were armed. And he fails to mention that the West supported ethno-nationalist authoritarian movements, in opposition to socialists who called for workers of the world to unite.

He fails to mention that the ANC loathed "resistance" movements in the USSR not just because they were "anti-communist" but because they were ethno-nationalists.
