Consumer Affairs Ministry Released New Endorsement Guidelines on Friday
Definition of Influencers - Creators who Advertise Products & Services with a Strong Influence on the Purchasing Decisions or Opinions of their Audience
The New Guidelines will be applicable to
• All Social Media Influencers

For Promoting Products and Services Online
Disclosures are Mandatory Now
It should be clear, prominent & extremely hard to miss
For other Potential Content, that may sound like an endorsement, there’s always a disclosure added
Feel free to share any Feedback, I’ll take a note
Given my experience in the Industry, Brands also discourage creators to not use Disclaimers as their campaign won’t look organic
My humble request to Brands & Agencies to Not Promote this Culture
As a User, if you come across any Tweets, LinkedIn Posts, Instagram Reels or YouTube Video etc where there’s a Plug/Endorsement/Integration of any Product/Brand
You’ve all the rights to
• Ask in the comments if it’s a Paid Endorsement
• If Yes, Why Disclosure was not added
You can also reach out to the concerned creator for Clarification
