RTE has just stated as fact that Frances Fitzgerald, Dara Calleary and Barry Cowen have “been subsequently cleared” of the scandals which triggered their resignations...
Really?
Frances Fitzgerald - "she had to resign because...." Image
Barry Cowen had un-revealed convictions for drink driving and speeding. He did not tell us how he "regularised his licence" or drove with a provisional licence without valid insurance on motorways. And that U-turn to avoid Gardai, Baz...
Barry says that didn't happen. When GSOC investigated, they were unable to tell one way or the other from the notes and records retained from 2016. Image
And Dara Calleary? Dara attended #Golfgate and like others, he didn't seem to notice there was a partition in the small room which allowed <50 in both sides. Not even when the partition was opened for the prize-giving and people from the other side walked to the podium... ImageImage

Today, the govt will take between €4-8m a year from the taxpayer and use it to bail out RTE. How? They're going to push through a law to transfer the National Symphony Orchestra from RTE to the National Concert Hall and relieve RTE of its cost. A thread... Image
The NSO has around 70 employees and God-knows-how-many contractors. Look at them there. How much does the NSO actually cost RTE every year? It's not clear because RTE doesn't give a breakdown in its €13m orchestras/choir costs, but it's believed to be €8m. ImageImage
RTE is supposed to fund the NSO from the licence fee. Legally. It's one of RTE's duties ["objects"] in the Broadcast Act 2009. However, RTE has moaned to govt that it is "under financial pressure" and wants rid of this cost. Here's an internal Dept of Media document. ImageImage

Paul Crosby in court admits "driving KMW" to a house where the juvenile criminal was killed. But since when is driving someone somewhere a crime? Did KMW voluntarily get in the car? How did Crosby know where to pick up KMW? KMW was last seen beside Drogheda garda station...
It's easy to see why Jonathan Dowdall doesn't think he committed a crime at all with the Regency attack. Dowdall likewise admitted to "facilitating murder" but when is booking a hotel room for a friend a crime?
What the courts are inferring is, the action admitted to was undertaken knowing it was to lead to murder, or being "criminally reckless in the circumstances", but we're not hearing details of that knowledge or criminal recklessness in these hearings.

Did Gardai have a role in the killing of Keane Mulready-Woods?
TLDR? There are a lot of curious coincidences and unanswered questions [which can easily be answered by Gardai].
It’s two years since juvenile criminal Keane Mulready-Woods (17, left) from Drogheda was tortured, killed and chopped up. This week at the Special Criminal Court, we should see the sentencing of two men, including Paul Crosby (27, right) for “facilitating murder” ImageImage
Three maps (1) a wide area map of Drogheda – big town, 30,000 inhabitants, 5km wide & 3km long (2) a small corner of Drogheda showing the Garda station & (3) same map with markings A, B and X-the only Garda station in Drogheda town. A & B are around 300 ft from the Garda station. ImageImageImage

Where is the Opposition & a vote of no confidence in this govt for its fraud & sleaze?
Damien English, fraudster & god-knows-what with his vulture dealings
Paschal Donohoe, tens of millions for his secret benefactor
Coillte - secretive sale of forests to Pat Cox's British outfit
Micheal Martin wants a review of Coillte yet his FF agri minister has been kept in the loop on the deal for months
Tolls roads - gifting €26m to John Moran's Limerick toll company despite Comptroller and Auditor General objections
Gifting €40m a year to bottom line of national newspapers which are all profitable. Gifting €15m to RTE, funding three journalists, Simon Harris Solas giving #todaycb €42k/mth sponsorship, allowing RTE to transfer its costly orchestra elsewhere
No wonder we depend on the Ditch!

Feb 2016, Paschal Donohoe accepts €1k of election work from Michael Stone and doesn't declare it
July 2016 government appoints Michael Stone to head up the North East Inner City task force and gives it €38.2m [up to 2022] for "projects"
Paschal Donohoe claims he had no role in the appointment of Michael Stone to the position, but Paschal was Minister for Public Expenditure and the TD for.... the North East Inner City. That seems incredible, so it does.
Main Media mis-reports the name of this body. It's the North East Inner City group whose website is here.
neic.ie/about/overview
Incredible that Paschal wouldn't have had any role in this appointment given his ministerial role holding the purse-strings, and his constituency.

Twitter has removed "show latest tweets" so you're now being served tweets on your homepage which Twitter thinks you should see. Didn't @elonmusk himself advise us to choose "show latest tweets" always to defeat the pesky algorithms?
Yep, wasn't imagining it... Image
Twitter claims not to be a publisher, but it is now choosing what tweets to serve you on your homepage. You can no longer just select to see tweets from people you follow in chronological order.
That looks a lot like publishing!
