Thread: "The 100 Free Ones", the story of the 100 SSNP revolutionaries who volunteered to join the Tunisians in Bizerte, in 1961, to aid them in their fight for liberation from the French occupation.
After gaining its independence and signing "The Franco-Tunisian Protocol" of independence, the Tunisian side awaited France's promised evacuation of its last base in Tunisia, Bizerte's Naval Base, which was used against the Algerian revolutionaries during the Algeria War.
But for years France stalled the evacuation decision, and on the contrary, fortified its presence in Bizerte, beyond the naval base alone.
In 1961, as the imminent French defeat in Algeria neared, the Tunisian forces besieged the French military in Bizerte, igniting clashes.
After the Bizerte clashes broke out, SSNP's President then, Abdullah Saadeh, aka the Albino Tiger, sent Tunisian President, Habib Bourguiba, a telegram declaring SSNP's support for the Tunisia, and another telegram to the Lebanese parliament demanding support for Tunisia.
Tunisia requested volunteers from all revolutionary movements to aid them in their battle against the French, and on the 26th of July, of 1961, 100's of SSNP members stood outside the Tunisian embassy, volunteering to join the fight.
The SSNP's Dean of Defense back then, Trustee Bashir Obeid, gave to the chosen 100 volunteers, asking them to demonstrate courage and heroism in Tunisia, reminding them of Tunisia's shared past with Syria, of Carthage, Elissa, Hamilcar and Hannibal.
Then the Party's President, Abdullah Saadeh, gave his speech to the volunteers:
"We requested only a 100 fighters, but before our request even reached all party branches, here you march in the 100's to volunteer for Tunisia's liberation."
President Abdullah Saadeh continued:
"As the Zaim (Antoun Saadeh) said, we are the shield and sword of the Arab world.
We defend freedom because we are free. We are responsible for defending others' freedom because freedom cannot be fragmented."
After the speech's end, the SSNP volunteers marched to Tunisia's embassy, as the civilians gathered in the streets of Beirut to salute them. The volunteers were met by the Tunisian ambassador to Beirut then, Mahmoud Charchour, upon arriving at the embassy.t
Tunisian Ambassador Mahmoud Charchour to the SSNP volunteers:
"I see upon your faces, the spirit of the eternal martyr Antoun Saadeh, and Tunisia would be truly proud of your enthusiasm to aid it in its battle for liberation."
Ambassador Charchour continued:
"Tunisia, which knows of your Social Nationalist Party's struggle, is deeply grateful for your noble gesture, and I, in the name of Tunisia, its people, its president and its government, thank you."
Amongst the volunteers to fight in Tunisia were comrade Niqula Nasir, Trustee Ojaj el Mohtar, Trustee Ghassan Izzeddine, comrade Antoun Akzam and dozens more.
Unfortunately upon returning from their fight against the French in Tunisia to Lebanon, the volunteers found themselves arrested, executed and persecuted by the Lebanese government of Fouad Chehab, the former officer of the French Army, who had dragged the SSNP into a conflict.
The end.

The "Israel Security Agency", abbreviated as Shabak or Shin Bet, the monstrous zionist organization, its history, methods and crimes, a thread.
In 1948, after the establishment of the Zionist occupation's entity of "Israel", 3 main security agencies were formed:
- The Israel Security Agency, or Shabak.
- The Military Intelligence Directorate, or Aman.
- Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations, or Mossad.
Sherut Bitaẖon Klali is the full Hebrew name of the agency. Founded by David Ben Gurion, the Zionist occupation's first Prime Minister, formed of members of the terrorist Haganah militias after its disbandment, which committed many crimes against the Palestinian people.
Hussein al-Bana, the first Syrian Social-Nationalist comrade to martyr in our struggle against the zionist project, passed 86 years ago today.
Al-Bana was a fighter in the SSNP's "Whirlwind Brigade" which fought the British-backed Zionist project in Northern Palestine in 1936.
Born in 1903, Hussein Ali al-Bana was the son of a struggling family from Charoun, Lebanon.
Al-Bana, first a member of the Communist Party, joined the SSNP after meeting the poet and SSNP Trustee Ojaj el Mohtar(in the image below) and learning more about the movement.
In 1936, the SSNP sent a group of fighters, al-Bana amongst them, "The Whirlwind Brigade" to aid the revolution in Palestine against the British occupation and the zionists.
On September 23rd of 1936, a British airstrike killed comrade Hussein al-Bana in Nablus, Palestine.
The SSNP held a preparatory meeting in Beirut, titled "One Party Towards the Stage of Struggle" to discuss plans for next year's General National Congress.
The SSNP President Rabi Banat discussed the recent developments in the region, the Turkish expansion in Northern Syria and Iraq, the economic collapse in Lebanon and the attempts to create rift and strife in Iraq.
President Banat also shed light on the internal affairs of the party and its negative results in the recent parliamentary elections in Lebanon, stating that the party's role regressed when it's efforts in direct resistance and struggle regressed.
The sources Antoun Saadeh used to write his book "The Genesis of Nations", according to Dr. Edmond Melhem.
"Sa´adeh, who had mastered several languages, carried out extensive research in numerous languages (English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic) in order to accomplish this comprehensive study.
The histories of cultures and mankind, especially of Syria, oriental societies and the Near East, were available to him as sources of information through the works of prominent historians, sociologists, anthropologists and other experts.
The SSNP Branch of Palestine published this series of images to raise awareness on the role of the "Jewish Agency for Israel" organization in settling Jewish immigrants in occupied Palestine since it's foundation.
The idea of the Jewish Agency was devised by Theodor Herzl during the "First Zionist Congress" in Basel, Switzerland, 1897, with the goal of bringing Jews from around the world to Palestine.
Officially founded in 1908, and enlisted in the 1922 British Mandate command paper.
The "Jewish Agency" contributed to the foundation of the terrorist Haganah militias which committed many crimes and massacres against Palestinians, British and foreigners who did not cooperate with their zionist agenda.
