Hi all you lovely people. I have been persuaded it is not super unreasonable to have a way to leave me a tip if you want to 1/2

No vested interest or pay for it, just piecing together some much needed context. IMHO better informed people make for a better place for us all to live
Long way of saying if you wanted to buy me a wee coffee it would help with cost of books, fees for events, subscriptions and the other stuff OH despairs of me consuming to keep facts straight

Will there be any independent election observers in May to document the number of people who are turned away and delays / queues relative to normal operation of polling stations?

Who could organise that without accusation of bias. I would help
Are all the staff getting adequate training? Are they prepared with response to challenge or any bad faith stirring of trouble about mail in ballots. A stitch in time, grist to mill for a fight for roll back for the next GE on basis of any real or other issues documented?
The potential for chaos being created by certain portions of the media is not a trivial concern here

Chumocracy poisoned the talent pool. You know this feeling. When a job description has a name on it in barely invisible incestuous ink
Good people will work to change bad governance, but if there is resistance to change in all layers of an org, the most likely result is a reduction in talent pool to just those aligned, those who have to sit tight, and those compromised
That Dacre was even considered, twice, was a coffin nail in trust for me. OfCom has control over the Codes of Conduct for the Online Safety Bill. Better with Mr Grade?

Ministers will be able to influence codes for public policy purposes

Small state does not mean what you think it does. It may mean a bit lower tax (eventually), but you are taxed indirectly by losing the power of stare negotiation on a price for essential services. 1/2
Saving you more than repay in higher prices, due to margins added by private firms who act as tax subsidised intermediaries answerable to shareholders and investors, including some in our current government. Some who are carefully brokering the deals
Assets and subsidies that the government make attractive to acquire. Land, property, services, schools, hospitals, care homes

Leave via radical deregulation to fill boots in short-term while the routes to redress for impacts are being weakened. Who will gain? Who will pay? 3/3

Kids need boundaries. They also need freedom. Parents who will explain why and explain effects that actions have on others. Be strong enough to stand up to a week worth of 'I want' 'Why?' and 'No!' when it matters, but careful not to crush spirits. Listening too
Unique combinations of parent, child, circumstance adjust that

Why am I wading into the murky water of parenting? Because this government, who claim personal autonomy and responsibility are sacrosanct, dictated changes to education that disempower parents

Little to do with raising kids to think critically and take responsibility for being a member of a broader society
