1/ A Scottish tragedy of sorts all of this. But, not a tragedy of the Scottish people's making, (over two thirds of whom oppose Sturgeon's eccentric & unsafe on-demand GRC bill), it's one entirely made by the student politicians at Holyrood who have brought crisis upon themselves
2/ They were of course warned that cases such as those of brave and stunning "Isla" above might happen. They were warned multiple times, by the EHRC, by sensible SNPs, by charities, by the UN rapporteur on VAWG by groups like @ForWomenScot. But they knew better of course.
3/ Amendments that would have prevented persons on trial for rape for applying for GRCs were voted down in favour of a PR blitz (bizarrely) fronted by the always bizarre scions of the green party.
We were told "men don't need a GRC to offend", a true but facile statement.
4/ The fact is men such as here, convicted rapists, are rather devious by nature. Sex offenders don't *need* to join the priesthood, become scout masters, become school care takers.
But they do just that
As any grown up government not lost to gender utopianism would recognise
5/ Make no mistake as to the seismic nature of what appears to be the FM's decision not to house this dangerous rapist in the female estate. This is a concession that trans identities cannot be taken at face value and that single sex spaces are essential for safeguarding.
6/ That marks a complete concession of opposition points in the GRC debate. Because while "Isla" has no GRC, Nicola Sturgeon has learned the hard way the old political adage of "event dear boy, events". "Isla's" case comes at just the wrong time for this Scottish government.
7/ This is an example of governing by crisis, whereby a legislative programme can be taken to its knees by a well built swarthy convicted violent sex offender in a blonde wig with a pink handbag.
"Amateurish" barely begins to describe the fundamental failure of governance here
8/ Without an effective opposition or national scrutiny, it's clear the SNP have become arrogant and ill-disciplined. That much is obvious from this memorable photo op - had this been the Tories or Labour, you would have heard the complaints in South London.
9/ This is of a piece with the SNP MSP disgracefully comparing this debate to the holocaust or a comedian on Scottish TV last night urging "respect" and concern for "context" in a tone deaf appeal to the better instincts of the great unwashed when it comes to penal policy.
10/ What we have here are gendocrats.
An elite who pledged fealty to gender ideology as a wedge issue with Westminster and because they, (like equivalent elites) care little for the concerns of women or homosexuals. It's a bourgeoise top-down affair which works on disconnects.
11/ So Sturgeon is disconnected from Scottish voters. Her MSPs (and pals) are disconnected from grown up governance. The protestors are disconnected from basic decency and the Scottish government is now disconnected from being taken seriously. An amateurish and dangerous bunch.

1/ The First Minister agrees, as a general proposition that rapists must not be housed in the female estate. But one must ask why and how far this goes. If Rape is unacceptable, surely sexual assault must follow. If SA is unacceptable surely GBH, ABH common assault follow.
2/ Here we have a prisoner who claimed a trans identity during trial, precisely a matter that had been warned of in recent debates. Under the Scots self-ID law, nothing to stop him obtaining a GRC prior to or during his rape trial.
3/ Scots prison rules (different in England) are to house prisoners according to their gender identity. So where would be under the proposed legislation, if this chap had a GRC and there had been no public fuss. I think we can all guess.
"Her penis", "Ban conversion therapy now!" when it ended 30 years ago, "non binary identities are real" when no one can tell you what reality lies in such an identity.
This is not real. This is confected.
2/ "My daughter Jakie has always had a true female identity and his deadname is Jake"
Jake played with barbies. Jake is a biological male. Jake playing with barbies make Jakie because his parents thought real boys don't do that.
Jake failed a facile test of masculinity
3/ "I feel like a real woman now in my 50s, though I was a man before"
"Real women" in their 50s don't dress like that. They don't look like pornography. If they dress like that they get pilloried. Women of that age are mothers, or menopausal, or like men, somewhat weary in life
Shall we see where we are then member of the jury?
(i) Gay marriage was opposed on the basis it cheapened the institution, was inconsistent with scripture and in more wild claims, opponents said men would marry dogs or family member.
(ii) It was resoundingly popular in the UK where it was enacted by a conservative government, it passed by referendum in Australia and in the US became law via a 14th amendment case involving two lesbians, (a classic gay rights with involving actual female homosexuals)
(iii) "Conservatives" at the time pointedly did not warn or the dangers of gender ideology, because it did not exist. As is evidence both conservative governments and people actually supported it.
1/ “This is just like section 28” is always reliably said of something completely unlike section 28.
The section featured in a local government act and prohibited the “promotion of homosexuality”, here if is in all its glory:
2/ The section had a chilling effect on schools making it unlawful to teach kids some of them might have two mums or dads and homosexuality thus vanished pretty much from schools generally and certainly sex education.
3/ Today homosexuality is banished in much the same way, but from those you might least expect. Stonewall now says the word itself is a medical term and that gay people are “same gender” attracted - a complete redefinition of their constituency without consultation or consent
Shall we just see where we are members of the jury?
(i) A sign calling for the decapitation of "terfs" with MPs posing in front of it, they now claim to be unaware of such
(ii) A tweet calling for a car to drive into a group of women meeting to exercise freedom of speech
(ii.Cont.) Said women have now been advised of the need for private security in consequence of that threat
(iii) The author of said threat entertains what appear to be violent misogynist fantasies about killing a children's author and a sitting MP (female of course)
(iv) An SNP MP asked if intimidation of a labour MP was acceptable or if she felt any sympathy - answer "no"
(v) A Labour male MP spitting rage at another female MP to the point the speaker had to tell him to calm down
1/ When I say gender poses an existential risk to homosexuality, I mean it.
Compare and contrast the below. The @OED treating us homosexuals differently to heterosexuals inasmuch as it is our sexuality completely redefined without reference to us, a vote, a discussion, nothing.
