All great copywriters are not only wordsmiths but visual thinkers.

It’s best to have compelling visuals and copy together.

Your first line is crucial.

If people don’t read it, they’re not going to read your second line either.

Keep it short:

A copywriter should have no style.

You should be able to sound like anything. Your only voice is the voice of the brand.

More periods, fewer commas.

Periods mean short sentences. People like short sentences.

Move.

Next time you have writer’s block, take a walk around the block.

Writing on a train or a plane could help you brainstorm more ideas.

The four elements.

The minimum four elements are the headline, picture, copy, and logo.

The rest (captions, taglines, diagrams) are all optional.
