#bkdk with kitsune!Deku and human Baku who has been able to see spirits all his life

Due to his ability to see spirits, Baku has always been antisocial and strange. As soon as he’s old enough, he runs off and lives off the grid in the mountains.

He figures there’ll be less spirits here, but nope, he accidentally moves into the one cabin right outside a gateway between the human world and the spirit world.

Most of them are harmless, if annoying, but one spirit in particular is extra troublesome.

Baku came back one evening to find his laundry all torn down from the clothesline. The basket was overturned and something was inside it, only a few fuzzy green tails sticking out. Irritated, he stormed over and confronted the creature, ready to skin the annoying thing, when-

-a puff of thick cyan colours smoke filled his vision. He was doubled over with his coughing, and when the smoke finally disappeared, the thing was gone. Well, he couldn’t see it, but he could still sense a presence watching him.

Baku usually didn’t have to interact with the spirits, at least the ones that were sentient. Animal-like spirits were like regular animals, getting into everything and being a bit of a pain. Still, it was tolerable, and much more preferable to living with people.

But that green creature with the multiple tails, he’d never seen anything like it before, and he hadn’t seen anything since. He even spent some extra time at the local library, reading up on Japanese folklore, hoping for a lead.

There were a few creatures that had multiple tails, but nothing that was the same green as what he saw messing with his laundry. He’d probably have to see it more clearly to get a better idea of what to look up, but he had no idea when that’d happen.

Apparently, it was right when he got home. He saw his front door was wide open, which was a little alarming, but not too surprising. Spirits didn’t really have a sense of boundaries when it came to human manners and etiquette.

He slammed his truck door shut and stomped up the wall to his door, ready to give whatever spirit was inside his home a piece of his mind (if it didn’t try to kill him that is) when another flash of green caught his eyes.

“Oi!” he barked as he entered the living area of his cabin, looking around for the intruder, when a flash of green came crashing down from the ceiling. “Fuck!”

“Ow!” the being exclaimed as Baku jumped back, brows furrowing at the writhing humanoid on the floor.

“Were you hanging around my fucking rafters?! What the hell is wrong with you?!” he shouted, patience already worn thin from having to interact with the people in the nearby town, and he really couldn’t bring himself to think things through.

The person flailed around and sat up, and Baku felt himself freeze when piercing green, tear filled eyes landed on him. The being let out a squeak of surprise, then wrapped his arms and tails around his body, trying to make himself smaller.

“Please don’t hurt me!” the being begged, his words coming out in a rush. “I was just looking around, I promise!”

“Like that makes it better!?” Baku shouted, making the person jolt. “Why the hell are you in my house!? Are you an idiot!?”

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” the person babbled, unwinding his tails and arms enough to peak out at him. “I just, I’ve never seen a human before! I was curious, that’s all!”

“So that makes it okay for you to just waltz in here like you own the place? Who raised you!?” he-

-reprimanded, making the man’s ears wilt in embarrassment and regret.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself, I didn’t mean to cause trouble,” he insisted in a quiet voice, tears falling down his cheeks as he sniffled. At the pitiful sight, the rest of Baku’s anger-

-deflated from his body, and he was just fucking tired.

“Whatever, just get going already,” he huffed, trudging off up the stairs to his loft bed, wanting to sleep this off.

“W-wait!” the spirit called out, following after Baku as he continued up the stairs.

“What’s your name? I’m Izuku, it’s nice to meet you!” he introduced, making Baku roll his eyes.

“Bakugou Katsuki,” he huffed, stomping heavily in an effort to make it clear that he wanted to be left alone.

“I’ve never met a human before! I thought you all lived-

-in bigger places, and no one really comes out here,” he babbled, making Baku roll his eyes. “So, why are you out here? It’s just you, isn’t it? I mean, I haven’t seen any other humans out here besides you, so that means you’re on your own, right?”

“You don’t get out much, do you?” Baku asked, turning around to glare at the kitsune. The creature stared at him with wide eyes, ears pricked up in shock, before they flattened out against his head, his eyes narrowing in annoyance.

“Well, I don’t think you have any room to talk,” he muttered. The audacity…

“Listen, I’m on my own because I chose to be,” he clarified. “Speaking of, why don’t you go back to where you came from and let me sleep, yeah? I’ve had a long day.”

“Oh,” the kitsune said, his irritation seeming to vanish. “Well, I guess I’ll go, then.”

“About time,” he muttered to himself, taking off his vest and shirt. When he turned around, the being was gone, and he couldn’t sense eyes on himself anymore.

“Thank fuck,” he said to himself as he finished taking off his boots, flopping onto his bed with a sigh, and promptly fell asleep.
