This was personal. #Pathaan was deeply personal for anyone who loves movies. Here’s why.
The kinda hatred piled on @iamsrk is something most of us would have wilted under. Matlab boss. Ruh kaap janti..
He goes to pay respects to Lata Mangeshkar, he’s targeted for spitting.
His son is hounded and how.
What’s his response? Silence and as he said recently - Love. And that’s there in full display in #pathaan
Pathaan has no name. He’s literally abandoned in a movie hall. For Pathaan - like many of us - the movie hall is a home.
And he’s adopted by? A village in Afghanistan. Phew.
Listen to the dialogues and lyrics. In one scene he tells Khauf se dar lagta hai. But not to worry. Pathaan is there. ❤️
SRK’s love for his female stars is well known and in ample display in Pathaan too. The camera work on Deepika is massive.
In the end, the bravest soldier? Not Pathaan but Nandini Grewal. Uff.
SRK has no qualms being rescued by his Bandra neighbor. Bhai. And they both need painkillers. They literally acknowledge they’re getting old.
I mean: The last two words of the movie are lower back. 😂
And finally the fans. That JFK line in the end? I heard it as ask not what fans can do for Bollywood. Ask what Bollywood can do for its fans.
Oh and the references. Deepika asking Doobna hai? but you should really see this:
See, the thing about SRK in all his movies? His co-stars. They strengthen the movie. Pathaan would be half the fun without Deepika and John.
And both Deepika and John have pasts, both saw their loved ones being tortured. Phew. So much reference.
(recall: everyone remembers Kajol from Baazigar to MNIK, the entire hockey team in Chak De. SRK is about his co-stars)
SRK carries the love of his fans on his sleeve. Forget that "arrogant" exterior. See his birthday video from last year.
Or this lyric "Jhoome Jo Pathan Meri Jaan Mehfil Hi Loot Jaaye Dede Jo Zubaan Meri Jaan Uspe Mar Mit Jaaye" - he knows this movie so well. And he knows his fans. This was always going to be a hit.

Income - expenses = savings (and investment). Simple tips for all three.
Income: salaried job? check your appointment letter, CTC in detail. Max out tax savings using PPF, NPS, etc. keep track of perks, benefits, etc (medical, HRA, leave allowance).
Income: consultant? Maintain records well. Check your TDS rate versus slab rate. Keep depositing advance tax in time. Pay your GST on time (I do it when I get client fees).

Scale in India is tough. High quality promoters who don't shaft minorities are rare. And growth in India can be very elusive.
