1. Wallet

Check the wallet compatibility table to find a Lighting wallet that plays well with RoboSats. As well, use a well-connected wallet with sufficient inbound/outbound liquidity for buying/selling, resp.

2. Browser

RoboSats is privacy by default, meaning you can only use it via Tor or I2P. Accessing RoboSats via clearnet is unsafe and is extremely not recommended. You should assume you're being spied on through clearnet

3. Access

Use the all-in-one link robosats.com where if you are using Tor or I2P it will direct you to the respective site; otherwise, it directs you to the clearnet site. Never use clearnet for trading, only for quickly checking book orders

5. Summary

1. Generate robot (safely store private token)
2. Make/take an order. Lock the bond. If maker wait for taker
3. Submit invoice or escrow if buying or selling, resp.
4. Coordinate fiat payment in private chat
5. Confirm fiat sent/received

5.1 Robot

One robot for one order, do not re-use robots else you risk compromising privacy! Safely store the avatar's private token in case you need to access your order. Without it, you can't access nor re-generate that unique avatar again

5.2 Bonds

After making or taking an order, submit a small bond using LN. This mechanism incentivizes maker/taker to play nice. Bondless takers are not possible at the moment, but find a friend to cover your first bond or earn some sats!

5.3 Invoice & Escrow

Once an order is taken, the buyer submits the payout invoice and the seller locks the trade escrow. The escrow is always released to its rightful owner depending on the trade status or, if necessary, the outcome of the dispute

5.4 Chat

Keep conversations short and concise. Do not share info besides what is absolutely needed to complete the trade. Follow fiat payment method best practices and be a respectful robot! Use "Turtle Mode" for when your connection is unstable

5.5 Confirm

Confirming is final and irreversible. Sellers, do not confirm fiat received until it appears in your balance. If fiat is not sent/received by end of chat (24h) then a dispute is automatically opened. The honest robot receives the escrow and 1/2 of their peer's bond
