Russia delivers 200 T-90M tanks to Pro-Russian forces of Lugansk People's Republic armyrecognition.com/ukraine_-_russ… Why the #tank argument is silly. #Russia has already offloaded 200 T-90Ms to its forces in E. Ukraine & Ukraine won't receive a handful of NATO tanks until "several months"
2/ these T-90M tanks come directly from the factory of the Uralvagonzavod tank manufacturer located in the city of Nizhny Tagil. These tanks will strengthen the existing military units of the Pro-Russian Armed Forces in the region.
3/ For several weeks, Russia has been increasing the deployment of its latest generation of T-90M tanks in the theaters of operations in Ukraine.
4/ The T-90M is the latest generation of Main Battle Tank (MBT) in the T-90 tank family. It was unveiled to the public during the edition 2017 of military exercise Zapad which was held from 14 to 20 September 2017.
5/ It is an improved version of the T-90 MBT with more protection, mobility, and firepower.
6/ According to Army General Oleg Leonidovich Salyukov, the current Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, the armor of the T-90M is able to withstand modern ATGMs (Anti-Tank Guided Missiles) including the American Javelin anti-tank missile.
7/ The tank is fitted with the third-generation of Relikt which is the most modern ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) developed by the Russian defense industry.
8/ The T-90M is also equipped with elements of the Afganit APS (Active Protection System) which are also mounted on the T-14 Armata MBT.
9/ The system can reportedly intercept armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot kinetic energy penetrators in addition to high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) munitions.
10/ Standard equipment of the T-90M also includes the Kalina, a new generation of automatic target tracker and computerized fire control system.
11/ The system is capable of automatically tracking and continuously locking the MBT (Main Battle Tank) main gun on a target based on input from various sensors until the gunner decides to engage the target.
12/ The Kalina also includes a panoramic sight providing 360° combat situation awareness at the same time for the tank commander and the gunner.

@rebekah0132 NAILS IT. As always. She understands Russia in ways that few do. "On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia intends to end hostilities in Ukraine. Don’t buy it, Putin is all spin and the war is almost certain to continue." 1/
@rebekah0132 2/ In December, Defense Minister Shoigu announced plans to beef up Russia’s military from 1 to 1.5 million, with 315,000 additional soldiers and another half-a million conscripts added towards that goal.
3/ And last week Putin switched commanders again, tasking the chief of the military general staff, Valeriy Gerasimov, to lead combat operations in Ukraine. Gerasimov’s deputy: Sergei Surovikin, AKA “General Armageddon.”
newstatesman.com/the-weekend-es… Bob Kaplan does his mea culpa for Iraq. One of the few. Good on him. "Haunted by his misguided support for the Iraq War, the American writer turned to tragedy to understand the delusions of the West." 1/
2/ The medieval Persian philosopher Abu Hamid al-Ghazali believed one year of anarchy is worse than a hundred years of tyranny.
3/ “something far worse than even the Iraq of the 1980s: the bloody anarchy of all against all that Saddam’s regime, through the most extreme brutality, had managed to suppress.
Exclusive - Lt. Col. Daniel Davis Warns of Nuclear War: U.S. Has ‘No Plan’ in Ukraine, This Is Not a ‘Video Game’ breitbart.com/politics/2023/… via @BreitbartNews "Providing new tanks to Ukraine won’t change the reality on the ground of the current conflict with Russia" 1/
@BreitbartNews 2/ Calling the recent decision by the U.S., Germany, and other European nations to send tanks to Ukraine a “huge information operation ‘game changer,’” Davis cautioned that “information operations and claims don’t translate into reality on the battlefield.”
3/ “From someone who has done combat operations in tank-on-tank fights; in operations patrolling the East-West border during the Cold War and its potential Soviet invasions;
Space Command: U.S. satellites ‘constrained’ by lack of mobility - @SpaceNews_Incspacenews.com/space-command-… I personally warned Shaw about this threat in 2018. "A key concern is that U.S. surveillance satellites are at disadvantage because of their limited maneuverability" 1/
@SpaceNews_Inc 2/ Space powers are playing cat-and-mouse games in geostationary orbit more than 22,000 miles above Earth.
3/ In the last few years, Russian and Chinese reconnaissance satellites have maneuvered to get a closer look at U.S. military satellites that provide critical services like early warning, intelligence and surveillance.
Wasted tanks, wasted time in Ukraine – @asiatimesonlineasiatimes.com/2023/01/wasted… My latest op-ed. "Inept NATO planning will get more Ukrainians killed and risk a wider war between Russia and the West" 1/
@asiatimesonline 2/ Now, Russia has fully mobilized and has deployed anywhere from 300,000 to 350,000 troops and is readying for a massive counterattack against the strained Ukrainian lines.
3/ To prevent a total rout, the NATO alliance is stepping in at the eleventh hour to send in a hodgepodge of MBTs.
2/ n any case, about 14 tanks will be sent to Ukraine, i.e. they would leave Evros, where heavy equipment was located to counter the Turkish invasion, and go to Ukraine to fight the Russians.
3/ includes Greece among the countries from which the delivery of Leopard tanks is expected. It says that the “Leopards”, which in the future will be used to repel Russian aggression, will be not only from Germany, but also from other countries.
