Gayatri Mantra - A Universal Prayer - Meaning & Significance

Gayatri Mantra has been chronicled in Rig Veda which was written in Sanskrit many years ago. However,it is believed that this mantra has been chanted long before it was recorded in the text. For westerners, this mantra
was quite a mystery and even most Hindus couldn’t get the head and tail of it. It was a well-guarded secret from those outside the Hindu-Brahmin community.

Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
General meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.

physical realm;

Gayatri Mantra Benefits:

1. The Vedas state, to chant the #gayatrimantra , purifies the Chanter. To listen to the Gayatri Mantra, purifies the listener. However, there is so much more to this beautiful mantra than
just purification – it opens your heart center and expands our horizon. Gayatri Mantra helps us to open for new opportunities.

2. It is said that the entire mantra spirals through the Universe from the deepest part of the chanters hearts – appealing for the peace and goodwill
of all. Gayatri Mantra invokes and inspires wisdom in us. To state it simply the mantra says – “May the divine light of the Supreme Being illuminate our intellect, to lead us along a path of righteousness”.

Manglik dosha - myths, fact, ill effects and remedies

Manglik Dosh is also known as Kuja Dosh, Bhom Dosha or Angaraka Dosh. As per the rules of Indian astrology, a person is assumed to be suffering from Manglik Dosh if Mars is placed in a Horoscope in any of these houses:
House 1 (Ascendent), House 4 (House of happiness or mental peace), House 7 (House of marriage), House 8 (House of longevity), House 12 (House of expenditure).

However, opinions of astrologers differ about positioning of Mars in House 1 and House 2 of Vedic astrology.
North Indian astrologers advocate formation of Manglik Dosh when Mars is positioned in 1st House but South Indian astrologers differ with this opinion. In their view, Manglik Dosh is formed when Mars is placed in 2nd House in a lunar chart.

In addition to Mars, placement of Sun,

Karmas & Remedies

A Horoscope of a native shows the balance carried forward into this life from previous births. The previous existence is the cause and the present life its effect which unfolds slowly but steadily to ensure that no one escapes the universal law of Karma.
The Brihadaranyaka Upnishad explains the Karma theory with reference to theory of “Transmigration of soul.” The Sanchit Karmas are the total accumulated balance of Karmas done by a native in his all previous births. Such Karmas are divided into two- Prarbdha and Motivation.
The Prarbdha is that part of the Sanchit karma, which is allotted for the present life. It has both positive and negative aspects. Many enjoyments & achievements spring from the positive part and unhappiness, failure & sufferings from the negative part.

What is a remedy

Astrology is as much concerned with directing the natives how to balance their planetary influences as it is to inform them as to what these influences may be. Like a good doctor, an astrologer should inform the natives how and what he can do to improve their
conditions rather than simply notifying them about their problems.

Astrology can be one of our links to the cosmic intelligence and power. It helps us to implement a life regime in harmony with Nakshtras. This entails using good forces around us like gems and colours; and uses
more auspicious methods like rituals, mantras, meditation etc.

Remedies are like medicines that should be applied sparingly and with caution. There are some people who are addicted to the remedies and blindly use them thinking that like vitamin tablets, would cause no harm.
