1/ #FloodWatch — Record downpours from late last week triggered flooding across northern regions of North Island, New Zealand.

Below is a before-and-during flood depth and extent comparison for Wairau Valley, Auckland.
2/ We first began monitoring the weather event on Wednesday (January 25th), and have observed flooding since Friday (January 27th).

The ICEYE Flood Insights customers have received their daily flood analysis data starting on Saturday.
3/ More heavy rain is expected on New Zealand's North Island in the near future. The South Island is also experiencing downpours💧

Our team is working on a new release that will expand the initial flood analysis area significantly. Monitoring continues.
4/ Our team is working on a new release of the analysis: it will include more areas and an updated flood extent and depth for Auckland.

We expect the upcoming rainfalls to result in more flooding on North Island.

1/ #FloodWatch in Northeast US

Flash flooding has occurred in southern New York, mainly in Highland Falls. Now, the threat has moved to Vermont, posing the biggest risk since 2011's Hurricane Irene brought major floods statewide.
2/ The Catskill Mountains in southern NY and the Green Mountains in VT have experienced the most severe impacts, with more than 5 inches of rain in 24 hours. Vermont’s capital, Montpelier, is under several feet of water from flooding on the Winooski River.
3/ River flooding will continue across New England through at least July 13th. We are currently producing an analysis for this event.

1/ Flood Alert in Japan 🚨

Heavy rainfall, associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Songda, has moved across northern Japan from July 31.

As a result of heavy rains, ICEYE has observed flooding in Hokkaido and Northern Honshu.

2/ Our team continues to take new satellite images and monitor the #flood, as these rains in Japan continue. Yamagata Prefecture and Niigata appear to be the most affected areas so far.

Current data indicates that hundreds of buildings have been impacted.
3/ Initial flood extent and depth analysis is aimed for customer delivery within 24 hours 💧
