I've spent waaay too long researching how certain #dtc brands win on TikTok over others... Here are the top 8 pieces of content they create that smash...
1/ They create content that articulates why their product/brand is different and unique
2/ They have a carefully crafted "hero's journey" story.
Problem > "Ah-ha moment" > Solution
3/ They are storytellers.
And not just the good stuff that happens to their brand... the bad stuff too. Also, surprisingly the mundane (relates)
4/ They educate and provide value.
They don't ask, they give to make their audience better
5/ Shareable content.
Yes some create funny, inspirational, and entertaining content... but I'm talking going live, speaking at conferences, and doing podcasts. Other creators love resharing that kind of stuff.
6/ Before and afters
Showing someone without the product and then with it. Or testing out your product in public getting real raw reactions (this one is HUGE right now, if you're a #CPG brand get on this now!)
7/ They document
Document everything you're doing.. even if it seems mundane. You never know the stories you can tell until you go back and see what is on camera
8/ Answer questions with content
On TikTok you can create content by answering someone comment on a previous post. Brands will take that question and create a new piece of content with it. This shows followers they care about their questions.
