They originate from a con artist and grifter. How do I know? Because he directly grifted and misdirected money that I sent personally.
His name is Walter Lekh. Yes that Walter. I sent him money once “For Ukraine.” And twice “For Mriya Aid. And he kept it. All of it.
He didn’t steal it from me, he stole it from Ukraine, the country he claims to love. I was apart of the @MriyaReport from before the invasion, before it was 24/7 mostly not often speaking, trying to help in the background by sending breaking news to hosts and any other way I can.
In the first months of the war it was difficult to get money to Ukraine as my international wire transfers to Ukraine were denied, and I saw that Walter, (someone claiming to be a Ukrainian doctor, and leading a Twitter space to support Ukraine,) had the ability to receive money.
Due to the urgent need at their darkest hour, I sent him money believing that he would forward the money as requested. I left specific notes who should receive it.
Wow, I was wrong. I almost stopped listening to the space soon after as Walter was spreading toxic and inflammatory information, refusing to be corrected, exhibiting extreme arrogance and disrespect to people whom deserve respect through their long careers and I respect
a great deal. People who are actually making a difference for Ukraine and others, not just trying to promote themselves, and misdirect donations to his personal wallet.
And this was before I knew that he was keeping everyone’s money sent to him. So please ignore this fool who is fine stealing from #Ukraine.
Thankyou,
Steven VanProoyen
