I've spend quite a long time in a quandary about our slide in the country on human rights, while certain media obsess about free speech. Probably an example
@Heidi_Cuda@sianushka It's not like we have any reason to suspect that kind of stirring that is at expense of children and being able to keep the lights on
Who is endorsing that kind of divisive messaging and fears turned into school conflicts?
The genuine concerns artificially exaggerated and it turns out to be very lucrative in the long run
Very very lucrative and it will never stop. Each step leads to a next one, a next thing that has to be kept away from our kids
What point did it reach in US? De Santis destruction testing the irony of talking small state (it is in terms of funding) while he micro-manages Florida curricula /END salon.com/2023/01/25/sor…

A fair few people now saying: I was a bit iffy about subjects, but I didn't want right wing thugs to be bused in to start a fight in the car park after my school board meeting. It is not THAT bad. But by then it was all a bit too late
Leading me to this considered and strongly held opinion. I will fight with the school over better provision for my children. That is scary, defunding public education
When no-one else is sticking their political beak in I will have some chats about parental Vs school rights. The draconian power given to DfE to interfere is shocking and quite Floridian.
Not so worried about stuff on civil rights, history, LGBTQ folk
Might forcing all schools into private academy hands make them a bit too susceptible to legal action that is not wholly good faith about the curricula? schoolsweek.co.uk/statistics-wat…
Apologies for the cynicism. It is not entirely unfounded. Please do support your schools to get adequate funding first of all. Not this ridiculous bad faith government
The minimum service level bill is also relevant here. What would stop the govt de facto banning strikes and if strikes proceed a move to sue unions. Do we all feel no more collective action is a good thing? Bit authoritarian?
I had that blog post limited to access from supporters. I've switched it to free access now ICYI. It is all a bit too relevant to selectively limiting access to information buymeacoffee.com/TrialByTruth/w…
Last wee point. I set that to access only for supporters not because I wanted money or exposure, it was some real nervousness about a backlash, but if we fail to speak up or push back because of that it gets dicey pretty fast
Seems a very selective visit like Mr Johnson. Just when most of the Republicans are panicking about Biden's record job figures politico.com/news/magazine/…
If however, rushed regulatory divergence is argued to be the answer, we must ask more of the hard questions. Do farmers and the country gain from the standards race to the bottom?
