I know I usually make fun of people who do this but here's a giant fucking thread on localizers. Not tons of words, just pictures with small descriptions because fuck text walls. We'll start with the tenants of translation. Keep them in mind as you read

This is just barely scratching the surface. I'm not terminally online enough to keep going but it still ended up this big. So what can you do? When you see something you think is off check with someone who knows Japanese, and send an email to the publisher.

And learn Japanese.

An addendum. The fragile male ego thing in Fata Morgana was apparently chosen by the author even over their own writing, and we don't do death of the author around these parts. I would attach the relevent qrt but they blocked me.
