“He hates me. He must hate me.”

Jimin lets out a long frustrated sigh before putting down their ordered drink on the table and takes a seat with Jungkook and Taehyung who are already waiting for him with their lunch.

“Who?”
“No, he doesn’t, sweetheart.”

Those two totally different reactions invites Jimin to groan more, he even is about to bang his head to the table when Taehyung quickly opens his palm to protect Jimin’s forehead or it will hurt him to cry.
“Honey, don’t. He doesn’t hate you. How could he?”

“Why didn't I know who we were talking about?”

Taehyung glares at Jungkook who asks again while innocently drinking his ice coffee. “It’s Min Yoongi, Jungkook. Stop asking and just drink your coffee.”
Jungkook’s mouth was hanging open and he quickly closed it again and obediently drank his coffee in silence after giving Taehyung thumbs up.

“But why?”

“Jungkook!”
“What? I'm just curious, Tae. We can’t just judge if it’s right or not just because Jimin hyung whines about it. Am I right?”

Taehyung takes a silence, maybe he thinks about what Jungkook said and when he knows that his best friend doesn’t defend him anymore,
Jimin lifts his head and looks at Taehyung.

“You also think Yoongi hyung hates me, right?” Jimin then turns to Jungkook. “And it’s Taehyung hyung for you, Jungkook. Me and Taehyung are the same year, you bunny.”

“He’s my boyfriend though, hyung.”
Jimin rolls his eyes and clicks his tongue, feeling annoyed, but he loves them nevertheless.

“I don’t think Yoongi hyung hates you, Jimin. I told you.” Taehyung slips into Jimin and Jungkook's unnecessary conversation.
“And I don’t see any chance for Yoongi hyung to hate you for any reason. What Jungkook is trying to say is, what makes you think that Yoongi hyung hates you, Jimin?”

“He’s here.” Jimin bites his lips. Here as in the coffee shop that all of them are sitting in right now.
Jimin’s eyes then look teary and Taehyung quickly grabs his hand to hold it. “He’s here with me when I — “ Jimin clears his throat. “When I go to order our drinks,”

“Jimin, you forgot your sugar, oh — oh, are you okay?”
Jimin takes a sharp breath and wipes the tears before it falls when he hears someone come and put a sweetener sachet in front of them. That is Seokjin, their friend who works in that coffee shop. The tall man immediately worries when he sees Jimin. “Are you okay, Jimin?”
“Is your order wrong? Did I confuse salt and sugar?”

“Ah, no — no.” Jimin shakes his head and weakly smiles. “Everything is okay, hyung.” Jimin gives his thumbs up, even though he doesn’t touch his drink yet, but he doesn’t want Seokjin to really worry about his job.
“Thank you, hyung.”

“So, why then you look sad, Jimin?”

“Did you see Min Yoongi over there, hyung?”

“Jungkook!”

Jungkook rolls his eyes when Taehyung yells at him again.

“Min Yoongi?” Seokjin makes sure that he hears it right.
“Yeah, he’s over there with Namjoon and Hoseok. Why? Ah —” Seokjin pauses like he remembers something now.

“What is exactly happening there, hyung?” Now, Taehyung turns to Seokjin to ask. “Why does our Jimin come and cry like Yoongi steals his wallet?”
“You did see it too right, hyung?” Jimin suddenly shouts. “You see how Min Yoongi hates me!”

“Huh?”

“You saw it too, hyung. When we were at the counter!” Jimin repeats it like Seokjin needs to be reminded.
“You saw it when he snapped at me like — like,” Jimin chokes by his own words and then continues with a sad voice. “Like he didn’t want to see me.”

“Why would he not want to see you?” Taehyung quickly responded at Jimin.
Seokjin gently laughs because he knows enough that no matter how funny the situation is, he isn’t supposed to laugh and because Jimin glares at him. “About that, Jimin, Yoongi doesn’t hate you at all. I guarantee you a hundred percent. I've told you."
“You have to believe him, hyung.” Jungkook tells Jimin. “Seokjin hyung is Yoongi hyung’s best friend. He knows Yoongi hyung the best.” Jungkook nods.

“He could be lying!” Jimin snaps again.

“And what’s the benefit for him?”
“Jimin, listen.” Seokjin quickly continues, because he has to go back to work before his boss throws a box of tissues at him. “Yoongi doesn’t hate you. Not, never, at least not in this lifetime, or maybe even in the next one.”
Seokjin laughs and gives Jimin a light tap on his shoulder, taking no offense even though Jimin has been accusing him of lying.

Seokjin leaves their table and Taehyung goes back to Jimin. “What is exactly happening, Jimin?
You should tell me or I’m gonna flip this table and kick Yoongi hyung in the ass.”

Jimin takes a breath. “So,”
💌💌💌
They have the greatest peach juice, Jimin doesn’t accept any argument. Even though it seems like they opened the shop mainly to sell their coffee, Jimin has a weak stomach for caffeine. So, instead of buying a coffee, he buys a sweet peach juice.
Jimin moves both of his hands at the counter while waiting for his juice and the other two drinks for Taehyung and Jungkook to be ready. He moves it like he plays an imaginary piano. He calmly moves his hands, he even lowly humming at it.
It’s not a long time before his singing competition and Jimin is excited about it. The music he will play has even come into his dream.

“Three ice americano, double shot, please. Thank you.”

“Oh, Yoongi hyung?”
Jimin calls out when he hears a familiar voice beside him and it makes Yoongi turn his head instantly at him. “Oh, Jimin.”

Yoongi blinks and Jimin tells himself that Yoongi doesn’t have to be that surprised to see him at the coffee shop around their university anyway, does he?
Because it seems like that for Jimin, or is it just his brain's lack of sugar.

“You will drink the three cups of coffee by yourself, hyung?” Jimin asks surprisedly, doesn’t mean to eavesdrop, he just can hear it.
“Oh,” Yoongi moves to Jimin's side after finishing his order. “No, of course not. Those for Namjoon and Hoseok.” Yoongi dicks his head at Namjoon who sits calmly at one table, reading a book. “You?”
“Peach juice!” Jimin proudly calls what he ordered with a big smile. “Strawberry lemonade for Taehyung and boring ice cappucino for Jungkook.”

“Only you who come to the coffee shop to order peach juice, Jimin.”

“Hyung,” Jimin pouts, ready to argue.
He even raises both of his hands, pointing at the menu board on the wall where his peach juice is written, the owner or whoever wrote it even adding it with a cute little heart emoticon. “They sell it for a reason, and that heart emoticon, how can you ignore them? That’s rude,
and Taehyung also doesn't order coffee. Don't play favorites.”

After an unnecessary argument, Jimin goes back to his imaginary piano and lets Yoongi’s eyes keep following where his hands go like Jimin realizes that Yoongi has been doing since they met. “What are you doing?”
Jimin tilts his head with his eyes closed and smiles. “I’m playing my music.”

Jimin moves his hand again on the table, letting Yoongi pay more attention, but instead hearing something nice, Jimin instantly opens his eyes when he can hear Yoongi speak to him irritatedly.
“Can you just not do that —” He points to Jimin’s hand. “In a public place?”

“Huh?”

Why does Yoongi sounds — angry?

“You can’t do that in a public place, Jimin. People will get a strange idea.”

“What — “
“Just stop.” Yoongi insists and takes his drink when it comes, along with Jimin’s. “Stop doing that and practice where you are supposed to do it, and your hands,” Yoongi pauses, like he is arranging the right words inside his head.
“That’s weird, please get it together, Park Jimin.” He shakes his head before leaving to go back to his table, leaving Jimin with really no clue.

What — what the hell is happening?

Why —
Jimin blinks once, twice, until he is looking at his own hands and frowns. He knows he is strange enough to play an imaginary piano, but he likes it and he doesn’t care what the others think about him, but Yoongi — of all people, he has to be that mad?
“Jimin, here’s your drink, do you need something else?” Seokjin calls out.

“Seokjin hyung,”

“Huh?”

“What’s wrong with my hands?” Jimin is confusedly asking while lifting his hands at Seokjin, asking for an answer.
“Do you also think my hands are weird? What kind of weirdness can our hands get? Or is it just Yoongi hyung — dislike me?”

“Yoongi?”

“Did you hear him? He said that my hands are weird, hyung.” Jimin whines, still looking at his hands with so much confusion.
Seokjin laughs and adds a hot donut as a free service, along with Jimin’s order. “Don’t get him wrong, He even ordered the same peach juice before he turned into a coffee monster.”
💌💌💌
If it’s not for Yoongi, Jimin won’t be pouting along his way to the restaurant. If it’s not for Yoongi, Jimin won’t care what anyone said about him. But it’s Yoongi, and Jimin likes him.
Yes, it becomes something because Jimin likes Yoongi, as in like him as a man, as a beautiful and kind man who taught him how to play piano for the past year. Min Yoongi, his senior in college and his crush.
He was supposed to be the kindest person on earth, but why — what’s wrong?

Also, if it's not for Seokjin who invites him to dinner and insists that he has to come because it’s his birthday, Jimin may not come, because it still annoys him.
Having a crush who doesn’t like him back is already not a pleasant thing, now Yoongi is even mad at him for no reason?

Ugh.
Jimin finds himself arriving at the restaurant in a minute, and Seokjin immediately welcomes him with a big hug and shows him that everyone is already there. Everyone, including Yoongi who sits on the further side of the table, between Namjoon and Hoseok.
“You come!”

Yoongi looks surprised, again, when their eyes meet and Jimin holds himself not to tear their eye contact, but then Yoongi does it first, that man avoiding to see Jimin longer.

God, what is happening?
“Of course I’m coming, hyung. You threatened me.” Jimin rolls his eyes, not feeling completely upset about it, but he starts to think that maybe this is such a bad decision to come. Maybe he should apologize later instead of coming here.

“I’m not threatening you, Jimin.”
Seokjin circles his hand around Jimin’s shoulder and brings Jimin to his seat, beside Taehyung and Jungkook. Of course it’s like a permanent arrangement between the three of them and today feels so much better with Yoongi acting like he doesn’t want Jimin to be there,
or maybe he is.

“I’m asking you with the most effort.” Seokjin laughs at his own jokes.

“You don’t have to, hyung.” Jimin shrugs and takes a seat. Taehyung quickly kisses his cheek when he sits and Jimin smiles, peering at Yoongi over his best friend’s shoulder.
“It’s not like that I won’t come. I’m not a bad friend, hyung.”

Taehyung must catch how Jimin presses his tone and directs his last sentence to Yoongi who now drinks his water and is still avoiding Jimin’s eyes, he then scoots closer and whispers.
“Sweetie, I told you that Yoongi hyung doesn’t hate you at all. He just — just because he said something about your hands, or about something that you did there, doesn’t mean anything, Jimin. Don’t be that rude.”

“If you were me, wouldn’t you want to be /that/ rude?”
“But, really Jimin, he — “

“Jimin!” Hoseok cuts in and shouts from the other side of the table and raises his glass. No beer, maybe that’s lychee ice tea inside his glass, because Hoseok has zero alcohol tolerance. “How are you, cutie?”
Even though he seems drunk, and cheerful as well.

“I’m good, hyung.” Jimin answers with a smile. Hoseok is also his senior and Yoongi’s friend. Jimin met the man a couple of times when he joined the dance class he made outside the study hours,
just to get some exercise and fun though, and Hoseok is nice. “I’m happy to meet you here, hyung. I miss you.”

“Oh, come to the dance class after the competition is finished, Jimin. I miss you too.” Hoseok whines. “Ah, how about your singing competition? It’s close, right?
Did you practice enough?”

“I did, hyung.” Jimin's smile grows wider. “I try to practice as much as I can, because it makes me feel so at ease, and I’m happy.” Jimin giggles, can’t hide himself from showing his happiness right all over his face. “I think I’m good enough.”
“Yes you are, Jimin.” Namjoon adds, also raising his glass at Jimin. This time that is maybe a real beer in his glass. “You are doing really great, I know the competition will be yours.”

“I’m trying so hard, hyung.” Jimin sighs, answering Namjoon.
“I even do the practice outside the studio — “

Jimin pauses and stares at Yoongi who still can’t look Jimin in the eyes. “Even though someone is protesting about me trying to practice outside.”

“Oh God, Jimin.” Taehyung hisses, slaps his own forehead lightly.
While beside him, his boyfriend laughs happily, like this is just a part of a comedy show.

“Tell him, hyung.”

“Protesting?”

Jimin is about to open his mouth to answer Namjoon’s question when Yoongi slips in,
“That’s not a real practice and you can’t talk about me protesting about that because I’m not. I'm just concerned about how people will see you, Jimin.”

Jimin clenches his jaw when he hears how cold Yoongi’s tone is. He won't even apologize to him about that?
“Or — I don’t know if you like to get unnecessary attention.”

What? What the —

“I don’t seek any attention.” Jimin states firmer, he clenches his fists under the table and Taehyung quickly reaches his hands.

“Jimin,”
The room is falling into silence, even Jungkook stops eating his chicken and doesn't tease Jimin like he used to. Jimin doesn’t even hear Taehyung when the man is trying to calm him.

“You think I do that because I’m seeking attention?” Jimin speaks between his girth teeth.
Yoongi shrugs and even though Jimin realizes how Yoongi’s face has become redder now, he doesn’t even flinch. That redness could come because of alcohol, or the weather, or even the guilt that Jimin doesn’t want to get his hopes high. “No, I don’t really think of you like that,”
“That’s why you call my hands weird?”

“Jimin, I — “

Yoongi keeps getting cut by Jimin’s anger before he can finish his words, or by any emotion that fills his heart at this moment. Anger, sadness, frustration, or anything.
“Did I do something wrong, hyung?” Jimin asks, his voice starting to shake. “Why — you, out of all people could do that to me? You, you know how important this competition is for me, hyung. You were there!” Jimin shouts, not trying anymore to hide his feelings.
“And my hands are not weird! Just because I play my imaginary piano in public, that doesn’t make my hands look weird! Because it’s not, and you,” Jimin takes a deep breath, his eyes getting watery and Yoongi’s face now becomes pale.
“You won’t get any chance to hold it even if you really crave it!”

There’s a sound of sharp breath being taken from one side of the table and all the attention is now moving to that side, leaving Seokjin — the culprit, grins weakly.
“I hate you, Min Yoongi!” Jimin, once again bursts with anger before rushing out, leaving the table and the room with tears falling on his face, everyone catches the glimpse of Jimin wipes out the tears with his back hand.

“Min Yoongi,”
Yoongi drinks his water, mineral water. The man doesn’t even touch his beer like he wants to stay sober for everything that happened, including the moment Seokjin calls him like his mother is ready to scold him.
“You said that Jimin’s hands are weird? What’s happening to you, hyung?”

Yoongi doesn’t answer Namjoon right away and just drinks his water like he needs it to stay alive. He then answered with the lowest voice that he could afford. “I — That’s not what I really meant.”
“You said it anyway, hyung.”

“You just tell me how cute Jimin’s hands are, hyung! Well, you always do.”

Yoongi drinks his water again, swallows it until the last drop when Taehyung and Hoseok screams at him back and forth.
“Whatever your meaning is, you just have to fix it, Yoongi.” Seokjin continues. “Come on, I’m raising you better than this.”

Jungkook nods in agreement. “I think you should, hyung.”
💌💌💌
Lucky Jimin, the restaurant has a little fish pond on the backside, so after running away from his friends like that, Jimin found something to do. Well, at least seeing how well fish can swim is still better than doing nothing.
This is so embarrassing, to run away like that, but Jimin can’t even stop himself from shedding a tear and he doesn’t want anyone to see it, even though he is sure enough that everyone saw it. Maybe it’s more than just a simple embarrassment,
but Jimin could think about it later, when all he can think about is Yoongi.

Why does he have to be so mean? Jimin doesn’t even remember seeing this side of Yoongi as long as he knew the man.

Jimin hates him.

Wish, he could hate him. Damn, feelings.
“Jimin,”

Jimin freezes. Yoongi comes and calls him behind his back with his familiar tone. Soft and kind, and it makes Jimin’s tears threaten to fall again.

“Go away, hyung.” Jimin replies without turning his back. “I don’t want to talk with you,”
“Jimin, could you give me a chance to explain everything?”

Jimin bites his lips, still not seeing Yoongi as he should, when two adults are going to have a proper conversation.“Most of us choose to explain the action later than think about it first before we’ve done it, don't we?”
“Yeah, sometimes, I admit it and — maybe you also shouldn’t embarrass yourself by screaming at me in front of our friends like that, Jimin.”

After hearing what Yoongi just told him, Jimin turns his back and faces Yoongi.
“I thought you were going to explain everything and at least have a little bit of sense to apologize.”

“I thought you didn’t want to talk to me.”

Jimin folds his lips and doesn’t say anything.

“At least I have your face now, Jimin.” Yoongi continues again.
“And yes, I come to apologize to you for everything I did. I — I shouldn’t say those bad words at you, Jimin.”

Jimin lets Yoongi talking without interrupting him, because it melts him right away to hear Yoongi talks to him once again with his soft voice,
the voice that makes Jimin falling in love with him, even though his heart was filled with so much anger,

“I’m sorry, I know I hurt your feelings, but you should know that — that’s not what I meant,”

“What do you mean then, hyung?”
Yoongi tries his best to meet Jimin’s eyes, and Jimin does the same. They exchange silent looks for a while, and wait until Yoongi breaks it. “I — I don’t actually think that what you did before is weird as I also don’t think that your hands are looking weird,”
“I think you have the cutest hands, Jimin.”

“Oh?” Jimin gasps at the confession. “You can’t just say that my hands are cute after you said that it looks weird, hyung.”

“But I mean it.” Yoongi insists.
“I mean it when I said how cute your hands are, I just — “ Yoongi clears his throat nervously. “I just, maybe this is why I play music instead of being a news anchor. I know enough that I’m really bad at words.”
Yoongi plays his piano, his guitar is the second reason Jimin falls for him.

“I — I think that you look really beautiful today, Jimin.”

Oh.

Jimin can feel his heart getting warmer, pumping more blood to his face.
He is sure his face is red now, but he doesn’t care enough to find out when he has cute shy Yoongi in front of him, another reason that makes him fall in love.

Also, he just called Jimin beautiful.
“And uhm — I think because of that I just blurted out without realizing what I said to you and hurting you, Jimin. I’m sorry.”

“He doesn’t want anyone else seeing you like that, Jimin!”

“Yoongi hyung is jealous!”
Jimin gasps when he hears other familiar voices shout at their back. It’s Taehyung and Jungkook, giggling while the rest of them are standing behind their backs.

“Yoongi likes you, Jimin!”

“He keeps talking about you, even in his dream!”
Hoseok giggles when Namjoon shouts more and Seokjin, who looks like a mafia leader then comes to the front row and places his hands on the side of his mouth, ready to add the fuel to the fire. “He just wants to hold your hands, Jimin!”

Oh?

Oh.
“He just wants to hold your hand, he just can’t say it out loud.” Seokjin clicks his tongue. “And maybe dating you if you don’t change your mind.”

Jimin gasps.

“Yoongi hyung! Jimin likes you back!” Taehyung shouts at the top of his lungs,
and doesn't really care that everyone there could hear him or Jimin’s face is reddening and Yoongi is looking at him with a little smirk on his handsome face.

Jimin likes his smirk, but also hates it. Nah, he likes it. A lot.

Damn Kim Taehyung and his too big love.
“So, now date already for God’s sake!” Seokjin screams again and all of them are finally moved, finishing what looks like a screaming competition.

“I won’t open the door for you, until you and Jimin go on a date, or maybe have a kiss or something, Min Yoongi!”
After launching a lot of missiles filled with Jimin and Yoongi’s feelings, they just go like that, like what they just did doesn’t have any effect for both parties that they left behind.

“This is so embarrassing.” Yoongi hisses, covering his face with both of his hands.
Jimin bites his lips and his cheeks turn once again into a rosy tint. There’s too many things that happened in a short time, but he was proud of himself that his brain could catch up on everything. Nicely done.

So, now he knows not only the fact that Yoongi doesn’t hate him,
but also Yoongi likes him.

Yoongi likes him. He likes him back.

Yoongi likes him back and all the messes up that they’ve been through it’s just because Yoongi likes him and wants to hold his hand.

This is ridiculous, happily ridiculous.
“Yes, maybe that’s why you are better at music because you are really bad at talking.”

Yoongi shows his face and looks at Jimin properly when he is still trying too hard to hide the smile. “Well, I guess no one is perfect. You're also bad at interpreting, Park Jimin.”
Jimin wants to talk back when he then folds his lips, hold himself. “Well, fair enough.”

Silence fills the air again, they are looking at each other like they are trying to find the right words to say. Jimin takes a deep breath and Yoongi unconsciously holds his.
“So,” Jimin clears his throat.“Do you still want to hold my hand or not?”

Yoongi seems surprised for a second, but he smiles the next.“I thought I lost the chance already even though I wanted to.”

“You know, you shouldn’t hear anything that angry people say, hyung.” Jimin pouts.
Yoongi laughs heartily, showing his cute pink gummy. That smile is a part of a thousand reasons why Jimin loves the man. Yoongi then opens his palm, inviting Jimin over.

“So, that’s a yes?”
Not in a million years, Jimin will reject it. He reaches Yoongi’s hand and holds it like it’s his lifesaver and smiles. “Yes.”
