Jan. 6 defendant Gabe Chase is set to take a misdemeanor plea tomorrow. An online sleuth flagged to me that he appears to have briefly used what appears to be pepper spray as rioters were fighting cops, so potentially getting good credit for cooperation here. #SeditionHunters
Gabriel Chase was one of five Groypers arrested back in September. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
You can see the moment in @FordFischer's video here. He appears to sort of blindly shoot around the corner, and now I bet he's feeling very lucky that it does not appear his spray actually connected with a cop.
Even if you stay on the misdemeanor route here, disorderly/disruptive seems more accurate than parading/picketing, if words have meaning.

Jan. 6 Committee: "Nobody in the DOJ leadership could have predicted" that President Trump would do things like urge a mob to "fight like hell" on Jan 6.

Apprentice star Donald Trump in 2012, when the guy who'd roasted him at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was reelected: Image
(Deep in book writing, but it only now dawned on me that he used literally the exact same language a decade ago and called for "revolution" and a march on Washington because he was big mad that Mitt Ro... **checks notes** **checks notes again** Mitt Romney lost.) Image

Two points on this piece from The Intercept:

1) Christian pregnancy centers are very clearly covered under the plain language of the FACE Act, full stop.

You can opine that you disagree with the law, fine, but that's clearly what the statute intended.

theintercept.com/2023/02/03/abo…
2) You can also think that many "crisis pregnancy centers" use immoral, deceitful techniques to trick vulnerable women.

Not sure the targeted archdiocesan facility with the "RESPECT LIFE!" lettering and this explicit language on its website fits into that category.
(Mutes mentions.)

Confederate flag guy Kevin Seefried "had not considered the logic of those who see the flag as a symbol of American racism" before Jan. 6 and is "ashamed" that "many view him as a racist," his lawyer tells the court.
"Lacking an education beyond the ninth grade and lacking even average intellectual capacity..." 💀💀💀 storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
"The fallout for heeding Mr. Trump’s call has been devastating: Mr. Seefried’s wife has left him, he is headed to prison and he will be destitute when he is released."

“The intel in advance was pretty specific, and it was enough, in our view, for law enforcement to have done a better job.”

What the Jan 6 committee actually found, before leadership decided it distracted from the Trump narrative.

Jan. 6 defendant Joseph Pavlik was arrested today in Illinois.

Feds say the retired firefighter is associated with "B SQUAD" members, five of whom were arrested in August. He also used to be associated with the Oath Keepers, per FBI affidavit.
B Squad was run by Jeremy Liggett. Feds say Pavlik and Liggett communicated at least 50 times, and that Pavlik rented an eight-passenger SUV from Jan. 4-8. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
Member of B Squad, including Pavlik, provided security for the Trump rally, per FBI. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
