IMPD have released bodycam video from an OIS on December 31st, 2022. The initial call was for a suspicious vehicle running in the driveway of a residence; the female caller did not recognize the car and was too scared to approach.

Once officers arrived on scene, they approached the vehicle and noticed a handgun on the passenger seat of the vehicle; the occupant asleep with doors locked.

After shots rang out, the individual exited the vehicle with hands raised and the 9-1-1 caller then recognized the sleeping man as her grandson. He was in a rental vehicle with Florida plates; he didn’t want to wake her and slept in his car.
